[ CARING ]

Thorn, regardless of being left out by his size or timid nature, still cares for each and every cat-- even human. He mostly cared for Ivy and Fern, but once they got separated, he just grew worried. He would discard his wishes to try and help a cat-- maybe even a human-- if they needed it.

[ PROTECTIVE ]

This trait is only apparent with his family and close friends.
Even if he is small and not as strong as the other cats, he won't hold back anything when it comes to protecting a cat he loves and respects. He wouldn't mind taking a hit for someone.

[ PERSISTENT ]

This kodkod has always been the underdog of the empire, along with his sister. He was sometimes even discriminated because of his size and mocking him because of his origin. Most would've given up, but not Thorn. He still keeps on a positive attitude, or at least he tries. Same goes with battles and fighting. Regardless of his disposition, Thorn is a cat that knows no boundaries.

Like his sisters, Thorn is highly intelligent. He can learn a lot from just observation and listening. Once he acquired even a fragment of information, Thorn will turn it into knowledge he can use in the future.

Ironic, isn't it? This kodkod believes that supporting is very important. Sometimes, even those who appear invincible tend to lose hope or courage, and that's when Thorn steps in.

Thorn is an unspoken hero. He keeps negatives caged, and positives out for others to see and for him to use. Though, not all see it. He does all he can and yet it isn't enough.

History
Along with his two sisters, Thorn was born in captivity in the city of Julii. There they grew up with their parents, Olive and Oak, as pets. After the three outgrew their need for parents, they became a little more distant from them, Thorn even butting heads with his father quite often. But generally, they could tolerate each other. Their humans treated them well but rarely let them out of the home where they stayed. The three littermates however, would sneak out at night to explore.

One night, a thief intending to break into the home spotted the three felines breaking out of the home. Recognizing them as being a rare kind of cat around Rome, (as Kodkods are from South America), the thief instead chose to take the three cats. Thorn and his sisters had never met a bad human before, and so did not fight or run away...then it was too late. The thief stuffed Ivy and Thorn into one bag, and Fern in another. He tossed the bag with Fern in it to an accomplice. The two thieves mounted their horses and tore away into the night. They left the city and headed for Massilia, where they knew felines we a big commodity. The cats could tell by the clanking sounds beside them that they were not the only stolen property these humans had with them.

Along the way, the terrified cats clawed at their bags, trying to escape. Eventually Ivy and Thorn clawed a hole in their bag and jumped out. They watched as the robbers rode away...as it seemed that Fern had not escaped. The two cats tried to follow the horses, but they were much too fast, and Thorn and Ivy were very much out of shape. Tired, frightened, and worried, the two kodkods hid in the nearby forest. By morning they found themselves surrounded by huge, tough-looking and armor-clad wild cats. The kodkods insisted they did not intend to trespass, and were just lost and didn't know what to do. The gladiators hesitantly escorted the two small felines back to their camp, where their leader introduced them to "Shadow Empire". He said that despite their small stature, they would be allowed to join their ranks as gladiators and train with them, if they so chose. Deciding that aid from these huge cats would ultimately help them find Fern and eventually, their way home, they joined.

However, little did they know, Fern joined Air Empire. They have yet to discover each other.

Thorn and his sister were small and the only Kodkods in the Empire. Nevertheless, Thorn wasn't intimidated, unlike his sister who appeared frail and jumpy. He was there for her when she needed him, and he always will be. One day, Ivy told her brother about her secret crush, and was uncertain if she should tell a certain cat if she liked him. Thorn, being the supportive sibling, said go for it. He tried to give her some confidence, seeing that she lacked it.

Thorn could've swore that Atticus would say yes to her. She was brilliant; she even thought of a new way to fight the hunters, but gained little rep for it. He thought that maybe Atticus could give her the courage she needed. Oh how he was wrong.
