This idea spawned from seeing this Lion Lounger: www.thinkgeek.com/product/khnh… and thinking it looked more like a demogorgon than Lion. But I could completely conceive Steven helping out in the Upside Down. (Corrupted gems? Possibly?)My favorite part was drawing Steve in the SU style. XD

That's a question I was asking myself as I was drawing this: I think in this incarnation, I pictured the Stranger Things kids slightly more "happy-go-lucky", closer to the tone of Steven Universe's writing. I feel like their reactions to discovering the Gems would be similar to Connie's, while learning about Eleven and the Upside Down would be similar to the introduction of the homeworld Gems and the Diamonds: that there's clearly magic in the world, and not all of it is friendly or safe. I feel like Steven would have been a good fit with the geekier Stranger Things kids, while Nancy and Steve would have fit in with The Cool Kids, and Jonathan having some kind of friendship with Sadie, putting him in closer proximity to Lars and occasionally Rinaldo.
That being said, could easily see Elle and Lion getting along best, with their "More action, few words" personalities, and bonding over shared Eggos.
