I'm not a ghost
And really the movie is not as bad as people make it out to be
Some jokes hit and some don't
It kind of reminded me of the first Ghost Busters movie

I do. Doesn't mean I can't stop to say the movie sucks. Hell, the movie is just a sci-fi version of American Pie!

I'm pretty sure those movies don't have anything to do with each other.
Hell,if you wanted to compare them why didn't you choose a movie with a little more in common.

I meant how the new Ghostbusters has bodily humour jokes. The first joke was about queefs. F--KING QUEEFS! Fart jokes were too classy!
It was number 11 here

It was the very first joke of the movie!

I saw it in spanish and I think they replaced it with something else.
Anyway, its not the first time they have done a joke like that
Remember the ghost blowjob?

The difference was that it happened in a dream, it technically never happened. Unlike the Girlbusters where a line was "it came from the other end"

I am pretty sure that happened for real
And really its no different to when guys make dick jokes
Its unfunny and you have to really be offended by it to give it any other thought

Xenomaster In reply to trollking01 [2017-01-10 21:35:02 +0000 UTC]
No, it wasn't. Ray was in bed, cut to him in a different bed wearing different clothes and when his eyes cross, cut back to the first shot where he falls off the bed. There is even a wavy effect to show dream sequence.

trollking01 In reply to Xenomaster [2017-01-10 23:30:25 +0000 UTC]
The scene was originally a part of a storyline abput a ghost lady having a romance with Ray.
That's way he is wearing different clothes
And even if it was a dream sequence, it doesn't change the fact that they did the joke
Tons of people saw on the cinema and are still seeing on dvd or netflix.
So both movies have jokes that don't really work and make you uncorfotable

You think you're funny, but you aren't. Even if that was the original intent, that make it into the scirpt. And if I were to concede that one joke, it lasted twenty seconds and it was played smooth. The new movie is loaded with tons worse. The aforementioned queef, the exorcist level vomit from the Library ghost, shooting Rowan in the Oogie Boogies, Patty being a raging steryotype, Chris Hemsworth being an idiot, the list goes on. The original was at least smart and well paced. Just look at the scene where Prick (Peck) is called "dickless". It doesn't come off as a wacky SNL skit, it comes off as an adult insulting another.
In short, even if the Ghost Job was a bad joke (it wasn't, it was short and sweet. That's what made it work), one little bad joke is still less than ninety three!

I did. It was funny, quotable as hell and very intelligent. One bad joke doesn't ruin a movie.
At least the original never killed off Peck.

Walter Peck. Agent of the EPA, the Prick who shut off the containment grid. The one Bill Murry's character is an obvious parallel to. Hell, no one died in the original!

Just because there are bad points it doesnt mean its a bad movie.
The movie got scenes cut from it like a paper in a kindergarden.
So yeah, I admit it, the movie had bad points. But it wasnt horrible, At worst it was a meh movie.

Rowan was able to reverse engineer the tech that Erin and Abby had theorized and use it to power up the leylines and the various places he visited. Also, he had regular contact with ghosts. I believe its entirely plausible given his intelligence and apparent love for the supernatural it would be simple for him to figure it all out. Plus his power was augmented by the portal and his machine.

Yet Ivo Shandor had turned the entire CITY into a PKE generator and it took decades just to get the likes of Zuul and Vinz Clortho to poke their heads through, get Gozer to come on out and/or to turn himself into a destructor.
You are telling me that some bullied bellhop had the time, resources and knowledge that took a cult decades of research and development within his adult years and from a book that should've been theoretical at the time? Even Vigo had arcane knowledge enough to be considered a powerful magician, likely though rituals that needed him to kill a vast amount of people, as indicated with his choice in decor "On a mountain of skulls, in the castle of pain, I sat on a throne of blood!" Pudgy Rowan got to where he was on sheer luck!

KairiTheValeyard In reply to Xenomaster [2017-01-01 02:02:33 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, why not? Shandor was an occultist, and spent YEARS researching the occult, getting as much intel about Gozer as possible. While he may not have had the technology that the Ghostbusers had access to, as Ray and Egon noted, the guy was a genius and learned fast, especially after death. The rituals he conducted at the hotel, as well as the mandela node that he set up through the city at key structures was also a nod as to what he had planned; He knew that he would not live long enough to see the destruction of the world as a human, so his plans were long term. Rowan however was different as he was someone who wanted a more immediate and rather up front approach to his work- he didn't want to wait for a primal god to do his dirty work, he wanted to do it himself and lead the spirits personally. His goals were more ego driven if anything. And you have to remember, despite being a bellhop, Rowan was very skilled at his work, and he had studied in the same field as Erin and Abby. While the theory was spectulative, if someone had the time, determination and resources, they could take a chance and see if they panned out, which is what Rowan did as no one took ther book seriously but him. And as we see, both sides saw that it was viable (Rowan just had an edge on them as his position actually gave him access to some gear that Abby couldn't get without stealing...) And remember, Rowan was TALKING to the ghosts that he had waiting in the basement of the Mercado. If he can communictae with them and possibly get more info about the other side, it's not entirely laughable he can use that knowledge for his own gains.

Actually, still is since Ivo had HELP! He worked with an entire cult and at least the mandela was a functional system apposed to "I die and become a ghost!"
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
KairiTheValeyard In reply to Xenomaster [2017-01-01 10:56:04 +0000 UTC]
Yes the Mandela system was functional...to power a Destructor form should Shandor's initial plan for destruction fail, which it did. And are you surprised that Rowan did so much of his work on his own? He was described as a LONER, the polar opposite of the Ghostbusters- given his views on humanity, it would be unlikely that he would get anyone else's help unless they were undead, plus his machine was designed not only to power up the leylines and the portal, but to give his ghost form strength too. Also, and I need to stress this, like Shandor, he was a certified genius AND an authentic wacko.

Shandor had HELP! And Rowan got all this from a single theoretical book that was out for like a week!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
KairiTheValeyard In reply to Xenomaster [2017-01-04 01:09:52 +0000 UTC]
Yes, that was my point, to show the difference between Shandor and Rowan; Rowan is the POLAR OPPOSITE of the Ghostbusters, he is a genius who is a loner and did not have the benefit of friends to support him and if he had some form of friendly contact and such with others he probably would not be so hell bent on ending humanity. But why are you so surprised he did it on his own, after all thee are other stories where loners did almost as much or as worse as Rowan. Don't believe me? Look at the damage Baron Zemo did in Captain America: Civil War.

Xenomaster In reply to KairiTheValeyard [2017-01-04 08:42:08 +0000 UTC]
I didn't watch Civil War. Zemo had the Nazis and plenty of help since the second world war. Unlike Rowan however, Shandor and even Vigo made countless sacrifices.
