Description
For centuries humans have imagined that we shared our world with monstrous creatures. Yet as time passed, we started to forget about all the warnings that ancient cultures had left us. We thought we had seen everything, we thought we had discovered every secret on our planet. But things were about to change.
In august of 1832, passengers of the HMS Lavina had a early glimpse of the horrors the sea had to offer. Sailors told stories of a whale, two times the size of a blue whale, with rows of fins along its scared back. The beast ripped a sperm whale apart and devoured it in front of their eyes, before disappearing back into the sea. Of course no one would have believed their story, given how fantastical is sounded. But on that day a important scientist of the university of oxford, Sir Edward White, was traveling with them. He made lots of sketches and papers about the creature he called ''cetus rex'' (king's whale). After he had arrived back home, Edward would lay the foundation of the modern day kaiju studies. He would go on several expeditions to find his legendary king's whale, yet he never found it again. He did however find several other sea creatures of impressive size, for example the the first colossal squids ever caught. His work would be used by other scientists over the course of the next century, for example the german biologist Hermann Schmidt, who discovered a giant and completely unique shark that had snake- like scales.
But no creature was discovered that came close to the size of the one described by Sir Edward White. Until 1942. During the second world war, another titan emerged from the sea. A creature of almost indescribable size was spotted destroying a american ship in the atlantic ocean, ripping it to shreds as if it was a paper boat. But due to the war nothing was done to try and find the monster, and after it no one really believed the story anymore.
Afterwards things went quiet again. The next encounter with a comparable creature was in 1954, when a crab the size of a car was discovered. But even though this specimen was smaller than the others, it restarted the research on sea monsters. Few important discoveries were made the following years, until 1962, when Sir Edwards legendary ''whale'' was spotted for the second time. This time however it was clear to the scientists that rediscovered this elusive giant that it was certainly not a whale. What they saw was a theropod- like reptile with long, fleshy fins on its back. Since it was resting on a beach the researchers could estimate it's size to be over 120 meters in length, more than two times the size estimated by White. He had simply observed the neck and back of the creature that was now dubbed 'Ceto', in honor of the great serpent from greek mythology.
After this discovery a organization to study those sea monsters was founded by the USA, Great Britain, France and Australia. This organization would discover several more creatures, and even explore an entirely unknown archipelago filled with unknown creatures. The organization would go through several major changes, until eventually it had became known as the OCMC. (Observation Center for unknown Marine Creatures).

Whah, that was a lot of text. Thanks for reading through all of that. But I still have something to tell you: I will reupload the Ceto profile, because I need to change some things so that it will fit into the storyline
See ya
