Description
Not all Large Hams have to bellow at the top of their lungs to make their hamminess clear.
A Cold Ham is someone who somehow manages to be both stoic and incredibly dramatic al the same time.
Examples
Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger pretty much always does this. He somehow manages to be comepletely unemotional and extremely hammy at the same time. most notably in one of his most famous roles as The T-800 Terminator.
Most versions of Mr. Freeze.
Depending on the Writer both Darkseid and Thanos The Mad Titan can be this.
Rustyrose and Fried from Fairy tail both are stoics that acts highly overdramatically and only get more hammy when they get not so stoic.
Sosuke Aizen from Bleach.
L from Death Note.
Depending on the Writer, Sherlock Holmes can be one.
Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Professor Snape from Harry Potter. also Big Bad Voldemort as well.
Johnny from The Room, Tommy Wiseau manages to overreact and underreact simultaneously.
Tommy Wiseau himself acts this way all the time.
Harry Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 seems to be written for a hammier actor, but Dane DeHaan plays the role with more restraint than is strictly necessary. This changes when he becomes the Green Goblin, of course.
Man Of Steel version of General Zod is a hot-and-cold running ham.
Agent Smith form The Matrix
Dr. Hugo Strange in Gotham
while Jerome Valeska was a full-blown Large Ham is twin bother Jeremiah is much more composed but no less dramatic.
lesser Villain Jack Gruber "The Electrocutioner".
Pennywise in the 2017 version of IT. while the Tim Curry version from the 1990 TV movie focused on the second word with his Chewing the Scenery performance, but Bill Skarsgard certainly wants to be the former with a more contained and scarier performance (while still keeping the Dark Comedy and overwrought speech one would expect from a clown that wants to scare children ).
Darth Vader from Star wars
also is grandson Kylo Ren.
Grand Admiral Thrawn
While normally a regular Large Ham Emperor Palpatine aka Darth Sidious acts like this some times most notably in the prequels trilogy
Supreme Leader Snoke in the Force Awakens not so much in the Last Jedi however.
The Sith Emperor Vitiate/Eternal Emperor Valkorion from the Old Republic era.
Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII and related media plays at this in his various appearances.
Xemnas from Kingdom Hearts series is a Trope Codifier, delivering sweeping hand gestures and dramatic speeches with a monotone voice.
In Fallout: New Vegas While most Nightkins are straight up Large Hams, God in Dead Money speaks for the most part in a calm but dominating manner.
Kratos in Nordic Era of God of War ( in direct contact to the over the top Berserker he was in the Greek Era games.
Once Upon a Time's version of Hades.
while in his Dark One form Mr Gold/Rumpelstiltskin acts like a normal large ham. But in his human form he's a lot more restraint but his words have no less emphasis.
Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes version of Doctor Doom.
Slade From Teen Titans.
Chase Young from Xiaolin Showdown. He may be more reserved but no less hammy then other villains of this show.
Garnet from Steven Universe is both the most stoic and simultaneously the most over the top of Crystal Gems.
Also Blue Diamond it's most noticeable in the episode "Reunited" when she goes into a emotional rant about her grief while making hammy motions, all while specking barely above a whisper.
The Lich from Adventure Time.
King Sombra from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
