Not exactly a tutorial, but if you want me to develop it in a more precise and technical way, let me know.

1 - Rough sketch. I only do this for my digital drawings because I hate drawing from scratch on the computer. When I sketch traditionally, I do details. I use a paper texture because somehow it makes it easier for me to draw properly... Here, I just set the pose, gesture, body type, direction of the faces.
I use a 50-70% opacity brownish brush to get a pencil feel (and to distinguish the sketch from the lineart).

2 - Lineart. I add the details at this step because editing lineart is of course much easier with Photoshop than with real ink... So it's easy to fix mistakes or redo stuff. I also fix some anatomy mistakes.

3 - Sometimes when I hide the sketch layer, I notice that I forgot to line some things, or that my line is wonky. Lining in a bright and ugly neon color helps notice that, but I won't inflict it to you xD The more detailed my sketch is and the closest it is in color to the lineart, the more stuff I forget to line.

4 - Basic colors. It sounds obvious to start by filling out everything with flat colors, every element on its own layer. But I saw people setting their lighting before that and it's just silly to me...
By the way, teeth and eye whites are not PURE WHITE. And they deserve shading too, guys...

5 - Shading and lighting. It bugs me when people shade but don't do highlights, or when people just splat a black brush in random places on a multiply layer, or shade with Dodge & Burn tool. Shading doesn't work that way. I'm not an expert but look at how light hits real people and stop putting shadows where they're not meant to be, and LOOK at the color of the shadows... ALSO people who put highlights EVERYWHERE. YOUR CLOTHES ARE NOT GLOSSY unless you're a biker, or Lady GaGa. Neither are your hair or your skin unless you're really sweaty, or you're a stripper and you covered yourself in oil and body glitter.

6 - Background! LOL YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO DO IT FIRST DUMBASS. If there's one thing I can't talk about, it's backgrounds. Traditional, why not. Digital GO FUCK YOURSELF I HATE YOU.
