Description "Mary Reilly" is (c) Valerie Martin and TriStar Pictures. Feel free to correct me if something is wrong or missing.

Pairings no 3: Mary Reilly and Dr Henry Jekyll

Fanart for the movie, so far I haven´t read the book ( I would like to! ). Mary Reilly is played by Julia Roberts there, John Malkovich takes over the part of Dr Jekyll as well as the one of Mr Hyde. You can see, the two are drawn in my manga influenced style, but I tried to make them still somehow recognizable.

Looking through the internet, it seems to me many liked especially the scenes between Mary and Hyde. Although Hyde is also an interesting character, personally I prefer the tender bond between Mary and the doctor. And the doc in general *smile*. My memory faded a bit, it´s been some years since I last watched the movie. Maybe I´ll find a second chance to watch it again? Well, anyway, but I still remember how touched I was by the portayal of the respect, softness and ...well... shy closer coming between the two. And how they feel that they´ve got things in common.

Looking now at the picture, I´m still quite pleased with Mary and the shadow effect. But Jekyll seems a bit too slim. Well, I should learn from that.

Wow, already 10 hits after a few hours! A lot for me.

If you want to read it I sugest you three possible ways to buy it: ask for the editorials if they have one in stock and ask for it. 2. Search for it in sites like amazon or ebay. 3. Go to that antique libraries of new and old books were you can either buy sell or exchange.I get the book with the last option.

Thank you for the suggestions! I know, all I would have to do is search a little while and be willing to spend a bit money, and voilà I could easily own a copy ( there is also always ebay...). It's not that the book is super rare.

Hm-Hmmm, it is out of stock in my country (Germany) as well. But the chances to get it second hand are not sooo bad.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only who prefers the doctor. Bad boys are all well and good (maybe that's not the right word...), but Jekyll is adorably socially awkward.

I quite a fan of the shadows in this, they heighten the tender moment you've chosen to depict very well.

Nice to hear from other friends of the movie! It seems to have been more or less a flop at the cinema, but gathered some fans later.
