Whether Russet directly went to Tenga and waved around his story book right after finding it or eventually he pulled it out when their next confrontation happened it results in the same thing.

Tenga tugs it back from the quill but he's not an idiot. He knows he can't do anything without risking it now that it's been found. He can't carry it on himself the whole time and he can't hide it somewhere else The Nook is full of Wynglings and would be found instantly even if completely by accident.
And with a sneer, it looks like Russet knows this too.
There's nothing Tenga can do then, he's got his claws tied and with gritted teeth, he has to turn a blind eye to directly butting in with Russet's bullying. Sometimes he tries to direct other Wynglings who like to play hero to take care of the bird brain instead since it can't be linked to him easily but he doesn't like risking them blabbing about him. Even more than that he's having a hard time keeping his anger in check.

It drives him mad, but he's noticed he's growing bigger. Small third digits have sprouted for one, he wiggles them and forms them into a stronger fist. Not long now, soon he'll be big enough to be on his own.
And once he's out and he can find his own place then Russet can't touch his stuff. And if he can't threaten him then he can fight back.
He just has to get out of this place.
He just has to get bigger.
