Description
My friends and I went to our local Humane Society...And there, behind a fence in an enclosure smaller than my BACKYARD, was a full-blooded wolf.
She had lived at the freaking Humane Society her entire life (she's 12 years old). Someone had brought her in as a pup and they didn't take her to a wolf sanctuary or a zoo or anything. At least at a sanctuary she could have been cared for by a pack and learned the ways of the Wolf and been fairly happy. Now she's too old to be transported anywhere. They named her Wolfina (How f*cking creative for one of nature's great beauties) and made her the Mascot of the place.
This one f*cked up world we live in. I was pissed enough to punch a baby when I saw her in such a tiny fence.
I don't care what they call her. I renamed her Blue since she was a deep silvery color that reflected a bluish tint in the sunlight. Such a beautiful animal should never be caged in such a small area, especially with dogs and puppies barking their heads off all around her. That'd drive me insane within a few days.
I'll post some pictures of her when my friend sends them to me.

You deserve a cookie for that artwork, and a hug for that story. If the wolf was tame, it would be a simple matter to break in and coax her out, slip a leash and collar on, and walk her to a van with a bed and food/water in it, then drive to the nearest wolf sanctuary.
And, yes, it is simple.
-Cameras? Pellet Rifle for outdoors, Pellet pistol for indoors, masks, gloves and bulky clothing to disguise face and body type.
-Locks? Find a window, hidden from view, and cut your way in. Possibly with a Dremel Tool, as the high RPM would almost burn through the glass. Lockpicking tool for any doors. (Buy off internet)
If the wolf is in an outdoors enclosure, then bring solid wire cutters for chain-link fences. Break in if there's a solid wall.
Bring a wad of cash to pay for damages and leave it on the counter. Wear gloves while handling it, and scratch out any serial numbers.
There are other things to watch for, but you can see that I could probably easily snatch that wolf, and take her somewhere better, where she belongs, without using violence.
And no, I'm not a thief. I just read and study a lot. That's right, I'm a Nerd. Fear us! :3

I considered it, but there were two problems: At the time, I didn't know how to drive and had no one who would go in on it with me, and the wolf was so old that it would have been cruel to take her away from her fimiliar surroundings and people only to find out that the nearest wolf sanctuary is several states away and full.

The lack of driving skills would be a problem.
The Romans had an adage for this kind of problem: "Sic volvere parcas"- "So spin the Fates". Kind of an old way of saying "what can ya do?".
Again, though, that artwork is an epic win. Good for you.

Heheheh I would pivture doing that in my mind but in actuality, I would go up to the person that owns the place, Slpa him/her as hard as posible, kick them in the shin, call them a rip off artist (Yea I really would) then run away! Later on I would complain to the ASPCa about it. Me has it all planned out.

Thanks!
My friends took pictures of her on their camera phones, so I'm waiting for them to e-mail to me since I don't have any kind of cell phone.

That's terrible! They should have transported her to a wolf sanctuary. How can they call themselves humane if they have her in such a small place?! And if she was their mascot then she should have had a wider range to romp around in!

I know! I wanted to cry. She kept pacing back and forth, back and forth...no room to run. It's even crossed my mind to break in there and get her, and then call a wolf sanctuary to take her. But that wouldn't be the best thing, since she's so old and the stress of the trip would make her sick.

True... Still, it would be so cool if you did that! As long as you didn't get caught, of course. But that's still not right what they're doing. She should have been allowed to interact with other wolves...
