Description
This semester in animation class was dedicated to "character animation"so we were each told to make a character that we will animate throughout the semester.
Of course, I wanted to do Donko a tribute and animate her so I showed her character sheet to my teacher
and he rejected her.
Not that he didn't like the character itself it's just that my teacher teaches us the, so called: "Israeli approach"-
work as little as you can in order to finish things on time (it's crap, but that's really how things go around here).
He thought Donko was too complicated to animate (especially her hair) so unfortunately, I couldn't work with her.
Sorry, Donk T_T
I resorted to choose a different character from a different comic of mine
and of course the only other comic I have is EB.
Which character did I chose? Not telling.
You'll have to see for yourself when the next chapter comes out.

At any rate, this is still a pretty cool character sheet. I hope we get to see more of her and Patrick sometime soon. Still love going back and reading through those comics XD

Hmmm....maybe a few comics that sort of take a role-reversal type story since the last 'canon' comic had pat and Donko's species swapped? Or maybe an arc where Donko gets either curious or annoyed about Patrick's school, so she follows him there, and hijinks ensue?

Funny you should mention it,
because I have in mind a long story to tell about what'sΒ
gonna happen to them now that he's a monster and she's a human
and they do go to his school together in the beginning of it.
The story itself is about how they go to hell to make right what once went wrong.

Too complex? Really? Donko doesn't look any more complex than most animated characters.

Well... he wanted to go easy on us because most of us
can't animate a bouncing ball without fucking it up...
Before we started animating our characters we all had the "sack animation"practice.
After that, strangely enough, most of my classmates characters looked like a sack with hands and a head
I wonder why...

Well shouldn't it be your choice if you want to animate something or not? I understand not wanting to push the class as a whole outside of their limitations, but that shouldn't be widely applied to everyone. If someone has the skill level, they should be able to animate what they want. Yeah, I'd be with the people who can't animate a ball, but I wouldn't want that inability holding anyone else back. That's my problem, not the rest of my classmates.

Well... When you get down to it- I only have a week to finish all the work forΒ
all the courses so sometimes you have to choose the easy way out for the sake of finishing on time,
and there are easier things to animate than Donko. I CAN animate her, it just would have taken longer.
One day, when I'll have the time I'll do GIFs of her, I'm sure.
I can still animate better than most of them no matter what my character looks like, so it's not like
it degrades my work.Β

Well yeah, when you have a hard deadline, then you have to compromise. Either by cutting corners, or devoting all your waking hours to it. So yeah.
I'm sure you will do GIFs as well, I just thought it was dumb to force everyone to the same level of skill, if there is no time limit.

I wouldn't say "force", it was more of a "recommendation".
In the end I would have done what I wanted, I just took his advice.

Yeah, sometimes people have better recommendations, and it's not a bad idea to listen.
