Description
Bio: Unlike most of his comrades, Peng was not born into the brotherhood. He was rescued by Arileus, when the asteroid Apophis had hit the southern coast of Florida. Peng at the time was only a child at around eight years old. He was with his mother, walking hand in hand towards the bank from their apartment complex, when suddenly the sky of Chicago turned black and began raining debris. All that could be heard was the roaring of the earth and the screams of people, car alarms going off and the sirens of emergency vehicles. Finally when all was silent and the chaos calmed, Peng could hear the breath of his mother slowing and her body growing cold. This frightened him. He called out in a weak voice, only to hear his mother cough and to feel a warm liquid spew upon his plush cheek. At this moment he knew his mother was not alright at all, and he began to weep.

In this moment of gloom, Peng could hear a voice calling. “Is anyone still alive!?! Helloooo!?!” Peng’s eyes lit up, with hope. He grabbed the whistle around his neck and began to blow. In no time Peng began to see light breach through the clumps of cement and steel. For what seemed like hours, he was finally able to make out the face of his savior Arileus. Tired, yet relieved brown eyes looked at him through goggles and a smile greeted him. “… It’ll be alright little guy.” He said in a soothing tone. Arileaus reached down to grab Peng from his mother’s dieing arms. Frightened and absolutely miserable, Peng has never felt such a great deal of emotion, in his life. This time he did not weep, but cried like any child would grasping tightly onto Arileus’s shoulders as he was shushed and cooed to. “It’s okay, little guy, everything’s going to be alright.” Oh, the fruitless efforts of trying to calm this despairing child.

Twenty years has pasted since then Peng is now stronger and more resilient than before. Specialized in close quarter combat, he sometimes serves as a teacher to the young recruits. Charismatic and aloof by default Peng has rallied a small group of recruits who have vowed to serve under him. Thus creating his Scouting team Prometheus. Prometheus consists of four members including himself, Bache the engineer, Fernandez the sharp shooter, Cecilia the bomb expert.

On one of Prometheus’s scouting missions they came across a FEMA camp just outside the city limit’s of Chicago. One would think the Templar order is in as much disarray as the Assassin’s, but to no such luck. The Facility is very much like its surroundings, ragged and ruined. Yet it still has power, helicopters and airplanes are seen landing and taking off regularly. Curious Peng set’s his Cam up on one of the ruined buildings, to survey the coming and going of the air crafts, and anyone who might be out on the plane strip.

“Here take a look.” Bache said as he handed his binoculars to Peng.

In the distance about 50 meters away from where they are, just under one of the airplane’s exterior, left wing, there stood a group of men in uniform. Looking as if they are having a discussion, one quite obviously their commander, walked up to a man who came out of the airplane. The man he approached was holding a steel, suit case. Gesturing for the man to give him the package, the commander grabbed the case and opened it in haste.

“…must see it for myself!” yelled the commander, clearly audible from this distance.

What he revealed was a golden sphere, clearly inactive and dormant. Handing the binocular back to Bache, Peng asks.

“See if you can make out what they are saying Bache.”

Looking through the binocular Bache makes out their words as they spoke.

“What a find, we have here boys. The Apple of Eden at last.”

“Please, do be careful with it commander. It is a rarity after all.”

“…why isn’t it doing anything Doctor?”The commander demanded as he continues to fiddle around with it.

“These barbaric fools.” sighed the Doctor. “You do not have the required genes to wield the apple you fool. Now let us hurry inside. The air out here isn’t exactly … pleasant.”

Heading towards an intact building of the base they entered through a steel door way. Turning around before going in the commander ordered his men to return to their posts and to “watch for any suspicious activity.” The automatic door closes behind the two men closing off the florescent light from within the building.

“’Suspicious activity?’ The boss is crazy to think that anyone would come here.”

“Yeah, it's practically dead out here.”

Putting the binoculars back in his pack, Bache relays what he saw to Peng. “It seems they have something of value called the Apple of Eden? Sounds familiar.”

“Sounds fishy… perhaps Arileus knows more about this. Let’s head back and rendezvous with Cecilia and Fernandez.”

Cataclysm: Asteroid Apophis has hit the earth and if you do some research online, it is said that Apophis is likely to impact earth on 2036. It’s just a theory though. Impact from Apophis would result in fire storms, tsunamis, raining debris and shock waves destroying an area as large as France or the entire north east of the US. In this case I made it hit the southern part of North America.

FEMA Camp: There are rumors on internet that the government is preparing coffins for the American people, in short a covert version of a concentration camp. Their primary purpose quote “is to coordinate a response to a disaster that has occurred in the US and that overwhelms the resources of local and state authorities.” unquote Wikipedia. More info can be found online. In this case I have the Illinois FEMA Camp situated not far from Chicago and under the control of the Templars.

Current mission: Gain clearance from the Rafiq to infiltrate FEMA Camp and gain information on the enemy and the Apple of Eden. Luckily it seems that the Templars are not fully aware of the Assassin’s presence, or even knows that the Assasssin’s survived the asteroid impact.

How a usual mission is carried out: Peng works with his team Prometheus, team work is needed now more than ever because of how little of civilization is left (or are known). On any old day, the team would meet up at headquarters, discuss the routine, purpose, and update their maps. Main purpose is to contact and if possible help any who are on their own, who perhaps has also survived the asteroid impact. Then there are the usual duties of picking up useful scraps up on the surface, to help reinforce caverns, or the green houses down below.

Duty: Peng’s duties range from being a reconnaissance (SR included) to messenger or guard. If anything Peng’s missions are usually given to him by his senior and care taker Arileus. Arileus is the Rafiq of their underground colony, which is just a make shift bomb shelter branching off into several reinforced caverns. Personally all he wants is the safety of those he loves and to maintain peace and prosperity for the people of his colony.

Situation: Dust and debris still plague the surface, but Clean water is no problem since there are underground reservoirs and there are some self made green houses in the underground colony, but supplies to keep those up are quite difficult to find. Because of that there are several scouting teams which scour the surrounding areas for supplies, and utilities. Food such as meat isn’t too difficult, yet it is still quite scarce. When the colony was first established there were those who were prepared for a disaster similar to this and so, have already prepared cattle such as pigs, sheep, rabbits and chickens. Within every 5 miles there is a watch tower of sorts each leading to the sewers, thus making travel a bit easier. Not saying the air down there is peachy and there is the occasional dead end, which requires remapping of the sewer system.

A series of small wounds damages him psychically as well as physically. Unless your opponent is a deeply trained man of great mental discipline, he will feel the effect of small wounds as if they were great ones. Name meaning: Peng means “The bird of Legend”, Qi means “Enlightenment or Wondrous”, Xiong means “Bears or supports” put together you get “The bird of Legend bears enlightenment.”

The part about the whistle I didn’t include it but Peng used to get lost a lot when he was young and his mother and teachers would have a hard time finding him. As a gift his teacher gave him a whistle, and told him to blow on it whenever he was lost. Even now Peng still has that whistle.

Whew! Had to rush this a bit, which is why the BG is still rough, and the story partly done. Still have a lot of back story and current ones I want to put with this but time does not permit such luxuries and so I hope you enjoy this ti-bit of my story.
