Hello:This is finally a model done from scratch after many months
. These are renders of the Colonial Cygnus class Fleet Defender or Gunstar.The ship was originally designed by Backstep and the MKII version, which my version is based from, was made by Ice-Dragon.
The Cygnus is a 695 meters lenght ship designed to support Battlestars in fleet actions or to act as patrol ships, solo or in packs. It carries no Vipers, but has a big complement of Raptors and Shuttles.

Finalmente este es un modelo hecho totalmente de cero depués de varios meses
. Estos son renderizados del Defensor de la Flota Colonial o Gunstar de clase Cygnus.Esta nave fue diseñada originalmente por Backstep y la versión MKII, de la cual mi versión se basa, fue hecha por Ice-Dragon.
La Cygnus es una nave de 695 metros de largo diseñada como soporte a Battlestars en acciones de flota o como naves de patrullaje, solo o en grupos. No lleva Vipers, pero posee un gran complemento de Raptors y Transbordadores.

695 Meters? I assumed they were 350-400 meters long, where did you get your figures?

I've got the figures from the ship's designer (Backstep) and the person that made this model I based mine from (Ice-Dragon), but it was so long ago that I don't have an available link.
Still, with those ship's proportions and size, the turrets fit in the middle space very nicely and the middle hangar allow for Raptors and Shuttles to land and launch

I had always saw this class of ship being 1.5 Mercury class Battlestar flight pods long & have been seeing them dwarfed by the Aesir class Battlestars; my logic comes from the Spine Pennants being universal in size.

Hmm... I've never tried to see if the pennants (nice name there) are the same size in Galactica and Pegasus, I mean those ships because those are the ships we've got official diagrams from the start. I just went with the size given by Cygnus' designer.

I've seen several size charts that make the Valkyrie 680 meters and that ship's pennant (the seal on the spine) was larger than the Galactica's & way larger in comparison to the Pegasus's, & by that logic the Cygnus should be 400 at most meters long.

If I do that, I would need to totally rebuild the central hangar to make Raptors and Shuttles to fit, and is kinda too much work, so I'll leave my version of the ship as it is

Actually you wouldn't, zoom in on the screenshots of the Pegasus in action during flight operations & you'll see full sized Raptor launch tubes & landing ramps in the flight pods.

Yes, in Pegasus those are wll stablished and I have no problem with those thanks to official diagrams... I was referring to the Cygnus, so I decided not to retouch it's size

Admito que algunas secciones tomaron más tiempo que el esperado, pero valió la pena pienso yo .
Me gustaría que este diseño fuera oficial de la serie, porque no es la típica nave que hacen los fans que son gigantescas y super-armadas, sino que este es un buen destructor que calza bien con el estilo de la serie.

I tested the ship ingame earlier today, it is very fun to play with
Funny that due to the official diagrams, the Cygnus is now bigger than the Valkyrie.

That is cool, at one point you'll have to do a fleet chart top show the scales of all your units.
