Elliot had practiced battling and sparing with his cousins in Italy, but after his mother remarried and they moved, he hasn't been allowed to fight with any of his step siblings, and has been too focused on school and athletics to keep up with advancing his move pool.

█ MAHOU STATS

WISH ❱ "I wish he'd take a bullet for me for once."

While Elliot and his step brother were close, that didn't reciprocate as well to the rest of his new family after his mother remarried. They were thick as thieves until something broke, one of the younger cousins wound up crying, or both of their names were yelled in that "come here now" tone. Elliot felt like he was always the one blamed while Ichiro got off the hook every time. Upset from being constantly reprimanded alone, he wanted his step brother to at least face the same consequences, or take the fall for them both. It would only be fair.

Elliot asked Kyubey for this, and his wish practically made him switch places with Ichiro. His step brother, instead of walking away scott free, will fervently blame himself and insist he was at fault whenever they get in trouble now, their family regarding him as the undisciplined one and Elliot as well behaved, incapable of doing no wrong, as they had originally with Ichiro. Even for things Ichiro wasn't involved with, he will take the fall for Elliot.

SOUL GEM ❱ Pale green, overlapping leaves; located on his right upper thigh

WEAPON ❱ Hunting Rifle

Elliot can summon a single rifle that bolsters 10 rounds before he has to pause to “reload” as a sort of cooldown. Without having to carry actual ammunition, the chamber will refill itself with when Elliot pulls back and releases the bolt. His rifle has a maximum range of about a mile and he must be in a completely stable, static position in order to fully utilize that distance with accuracy. While his weapon is capable of reaching that far, Elliot has a very low chance of making them hit effectively if at all. He normally stays out of the thick of battle, but not completely out of the action, hanging back around 50 to 100 feet and firing when he has a clear view of the target. Though long distance is his strength, should the situation arise he can also use the rifle to smack an enemy around in up close and personal confrontations.

POWERSTier I  Target Acquired | Alvo Acquisito
Elliot takes a brief moment to scan the area and lock onto an enemy to fire with precise accuracy, even if the target is moving. He can follow it and continue firing with the allotted time or until he expends all of his bullets. This can also be used to lock onto multiple targets to fire at in succession but with a maximum of five that must be within ten feet of each other. He has a decreasing chance to hit each different target depending on how many there are after one, going from 100% to five being around 50%.
(Think like Z-Targeting from The Legend of Zelda)
Duration: 10 seconds [5 for locking onto a target(s), 5 for accurate firing]
Cooldown: 1 minute
Can only be used up to 3 times per battle
Tier I  Speed Boost | Ulta Veloce
Elliot can increase his speed of firing and reloading or movement, allowing him to rapid fire or rush into a better position when an opportunity provides itself
Duration: 5 seconds
Cooldown for firing: 1 minute
Cooldown for movement: 30 seconds
Used mostly throughout a battle for repositioning to fire regularly

█ BIO

PERSONALITY

NATURE  Serious [no stat change]

CHARACTERISTIC ❱ Proud of its power [Atk]

[+] gregarious, independent, patient [±] methodical, serious, competitive [-] closed off, insecure, sardonic

Elliot is very self sufficient for his age, having developed a strong independent nature and a likeness for acting mature. He’ll always be the first to take the initiative and rarely shies away from a challenge presented to him, but has to assess everything as much as possible before diving in. Elliot is one to look before he leaps, and finds those that are foolhardy enough to charge ahead without thinking to deserve whatever fate they meet. He takes his time for the logistics and methodology of situations where he has something to personally gain or lose, to be calculating and precise to ensure the best possible outcome for himself. Elliot is a very straightforward and to the point person, and he’ll tell you like it is. If a teammate is struggling, he'll be the first one to let them know, but also stick around to help them improve and be able to do better next time. He doesn’t like to mince words, and he hates having to over explaining himself. Because of this, his form of encouragement doesn't come from his words, more his actions that follow. Honesty is something he holds at a very high importance, both in himself and in others, but knows it’s not something he’ll always receive. He values those with strong integrity, and holds a high respect for others he can consider to be trustworthy with their opinions and ideals. Where some may appreciate his lack of sugar coating, he can come off as somewhat demeaning when he forgets to adjust his tone to something less stern or lofty. For those that rub him the wrong way, Elliot can return anything with a quick, sarcastic remark. While this doesn’t present itself as one of his more mature aspects, it stems from an ever present childish reasoning to lash out as such that he has yet to outgrow.

Being given the responsibility of watching over his younger cousins from a young age, he’s taken great pride in gaining trust and approval from others for when he meets or exceeds expectations. All of this stems from the constant praise and sheltering he received from his Italian relatives, and also what lead him to be thrown through a loop meeting the Japanese extension of his family. Where Elliot was basically spoiled with support and positive feedback, to receive anything but that was earth shattering. Instead of gaining the ability to just learn from his mistakes and move on, he’s developed a very deep insecurity that makes him hold on tightly to his faults. This still allows him to reassess himself and make corrections, but the memories of whatever he did wrong will resurface long past their expiration. Because of this, Elliot has become his own worst enemy, often over critical of himself to an extent that’s distracting. Failure is not an option, and disappointing others, while over dramatized,  feels like a fate worse than death. He doesn’t like to share this aspect of himself with others, believing it’s his own burden to bear and one that he needs to better himself.

Though on the one side it’s a hindrance, on the other, metaphorically beating himself up has lead Elliot to be fiercely competitive. He loves being able to immerse himself in a sport, finally able to take a break from the over critical part of his brain and just let the raw feeling of pushing his limits take over for a while. There's an over zealous fire that comes with his competitive spirit. He can get hilariously intense during matches, finding self validation where there normally isn’t any by out doing an opponent or even his fellow teammates. Being overly rough is a minor understatement, he gets to the point where he takes a shove to the next level, and has no issue sending someone to the ground to get out of his way. He’s been ejected from a number of games for disorderly conduct, starting fights with the opposing team and even arguing with his coach. He’s come close already to being kicked from soccer once. His personal wins always come before the team’s, even when he’s reminded that it’s not all about him, and that methodology merging with being so competitive is what gets him in trouble more often than not.  Apart from sports, he finds himself most comfortable around his classmates and friends due to growing up with a large family dynamic. Though mild mannered in crowds, Elliot is normally quite approachable and conversational, and his desire to prove himself to others often gets him involved with offering help. Carrying books, staying after class to help clean, minimal acts of kindness that he doesn't think too much about. While Elliot has friends, he doesn’t have many he’d consider to be close. He tends to keep most people at a distance, not that he’s mistrusting or wary, he just feels better about not having to deal with a deeper attachment to anyone outside his family. It is possible to get past his serious and fiercely independent exterior, and the few that have Elliot will actually rely on, and in return they can trust him to be unwaveringly loyal. Around those he has assured alliances in, Elliot's personality softens to represent his age better, and that childish nature can actually come out without all the snarky comments. Elliot still has a lot left to get out of his adolescence, he just needs to stop trying to grow up so fast to realize that.

Abrielle and Baptiste had just recently married after graduating college, their son arriving a few month later. To help with expenses and settle down after hecticness of school, the couple decided to move back in with Abrielle’s family in Syracuse, Italy. There they could both work as well as trust Elliot would be in good hands with his grandparents. While Abrielle had been off studying, her siblings had wasted no time finding spouses of their own and having children, much to their parents' joy. By the time Elliot came around, he had at least eight older cousins with more on the way.

Elliot spent the first seven years of his life surrounded by family. His primary caretaker apart from his parents was his grandmother, or as she liked to be called "Nana”. And Nana spoiled her little grandcub. Unlike his older cousins who’d already found their own hobbies and lost interest in the old Pangoro, Elliot was constantly at her heels, eager to help her around the house and take over anything she was doing. She let him do as he pleased, wander where he wanted and and get himself into trouble the way toddlers do, but she never enforced any real discipline on him. Nana had already raised Elliot’s mother and her four siblings with old fashioned strictness, she had no plans to do the same with him.

Dinners were nightly traditions at his grandparents', his whole family stuffed into a dining room, the kitchen bustling as his relatives cooked, everyone yelling over each other while the children chased pets around the house. It was absolute chaos, but it was home. One morning when Elliot was five however, that home became very dark and quiet.

He’d been awoken by his mother wailing downstairs. A policeman was at the door, informing Abrielle that her husband was killed in a head on collision with a drunk driver. She was seven months pregnant with Elliot’s little sister, shock sending her into preterm labour. Elliot saw his mother collapsed on the floor, sobbing and clutching her swollen belly before one of his uncles and the policeman carried her out to a car. Nana found him shortly after, carrying him back to his room and ensuring him everything would be alright, nothing bad happened.

No one directly told him about his father’s death or mother’s miscarriage until years later, only that Baptiste had gone away for a long time, and his mother was sick, but getting better and needed to recover. Nana was very deliberate in her demands that he would not be told by anyone. It would be too much for a five year old to even understand.

Bedridden, Abrielle slept for days after returning from the hospital and Elliot insisted he would tend to her. After she did make a full recovery, she was confronted by Nana about telling Elliot as well, who ensured that it was what she believed to be best for her grandson.

Being told information was intentionally withheld from her son with some asinine cover up, Abrielle was furious. The following two years, she distanced herself from the family. Elliot had started homeschooling with some of his cousins, blissfully unaware of the tension between his mother and Nana. It was an uneventful time for him, up until a few weeks before his eighth birthday.

A year after Baptiste’s passing, Abrielle had been going out at night once she returned to her job. She met a man named Sato Masuda, he’d been flown in from Japan to assist with a branding project for his company after they’d contracted Abrielle’s design firm. There was an obvious chemistry between the two. The only problem was Sato was still married, albeit unhappily, but married nonetheless. He told Abrielle he would leave his wife, that she and her son could move with him to Japan and stay with his family there, she could start over with him and Elliot would be happy in Mitakihara.

After he divorced his wife, he asked Abrielle to marry him, she said yes without hesitation. Elliot’s mother came back home early from work, took both of his hands in hers and said, “Elliot, I've got some very special news.”

To this day, Elliot never found that news to be very special.

His mother packed two large suitcases for both of them while he tried to understand everything she had told him. There wasn’t even a wedding, just a signed piece of paper. They were moving to Japan to live with her new husband, his new dad she had said. He hated it. He denied that his dad was gone and he couldn’t believe they were just leaving like this. Nana had the exact same argument with her daughter, but Abrielle’s mind was made up. She knew was best for her, and her son. She had already applied to work on a marketing team that had ties to Sato’s company, and was accepted for the job. Everything was in place for the move, they would live with Sato’s parents, Elliot could continue homeschooling until he was ready for public school. All that was left was the flight to Japan.

Elliot met Sato for the first time at the airport, staring up at him with a scowl that earned him a scolding from his mother, and a pat on the head from Sato. The eight year old hated him even more when he couldn’t stop a smile.

There was one relief Elliot had arriving at the Masuda’s house: Sato’s family was almost as big as his back in Syracuse. They welcomed Elliot and his mother the best they could, given the uncomfortable and abrupt circumstances. In the wake of Sato leaving his wife, she gave full custody of their son Ichiro to him as well, having dropped him off the day just before. Dinner was horribly awkward, rough English used between everyone as a common ground to communicate. Elliot was hardly present for any conversation, too exhausted from travelling and miserable from leaving the only home he’d known. Things would get worse before they got better.

His first year living in Japan consisted of lessons and tutoring from Sato’s family, so he could start immigrating into their culture and language. He was flustered and irritated by how much they corrected him on everything, though it was just a normal learning process, he was used to  being told he’d gotten it right on the first try. His pronunciations were wrong, he’d mixed up his cousins names, he needed to take his shoes off again; little mistakes bothered him a lot more than they should have, until Ichiro became a larger part of his life.

The Masuda’s loved Ichiro, and they found it difficult to accept Elliot in the same way at first. Since Abrielle and Sato were at work during the day, the Masuda’s were left to deal with Elliot, and they weren’t tolerant of the entitled behavior he’d adopted from being spoiled by his grandmother. Their bias for Ichiro bled over when disciplining the boys for misbehaving around the house or at school, dismissing him while pinning the blame on Elliot. He was the son of the woman that made Sato get a divorce, they weren’t about to just let him get away with being a rude brat.

His step brother was close to Elliot's age and that allowed them to bond a bit faster as well, along with later being in the same class once they started public school. Ichiro was teasing towards Elliot at first, but also helped him the most, so it balanced out. Elliot could let himself breathe around Ichiro, because he knew if he made a mistake, the Torchic wouldn't even notice; it was this dynamic that kept Elliot grounded. Until the two boys officially hit their teens, and Ichiro evolved.

Before hitting junior high, Sato had been pretty absent from his sons lives, preoccupied with work and knowing how Elliot felt about him from the get go, he didn’t want to force his way into the boy’s live more than he already had. He tried to be there for him when Elliot got involved with sports, but never said what Elliot wanted to hear after a missed goal or slow time, causing the Pancham to only push him further away. When Elliot turned fourteen and he got to watch his step brother evolve having yet to do the same, Sato empathized with his frustration. He was determined to make an effort to be a part of Elliot’s life as a real father figure. Ichiro, however, took notice to the increasing attention his dad was giving Elliot and grew jealous.

He started acting out. Instead of just going about his regular day with Elliot, he started to purposefully get the Pancham in trouble, knowing full well how he hated being chastised by their family. Starting junior high had been difficult enough for Elliot, it was harder in every aspect. He was stressed about keeping his grades up and making good impressions where they mattered, Ichiro wasn’t making that any easier.

The day Elliot met Kyubey and made his wish started with a bitter breakfast. Their parents asked about school, Ichiro was quick to spit out that Elliot had done poorly on a test, Elliot was scolded to do better next time or he’d skip soccer practice to study. Additionally, they reminded him that Ichiro had gotten one of the higher scores in the class, and to try his best like his brother did.

Elliot mumbled step brother under his breath and got a stern look from his mother.

While leaving for school, Ichiro tripped Akiko, who wailed as he ran off and Elliot went to help her up. When Kami found her daughter with a face full of mud and Elliot right next to her, the blame was of course put on him no matter what he said. During practice Ichiro faked a foul on Elliot, knocking them both over and clutching at his leg. Elliot pulled at him to quit it and get up, his coach yanked him aside with a strict order that this was the last warning or he was off the team. He got thrown out of the game and spent the rest of the afternoon benched.

Sato asked what happened when he picked them up and he went off on Elliot, asking him where this behavior was coming from, that he needed to keep himself in check, and be nice to his brother-

Once again, only louder, Elliot corrected him by saying step brother through his teeth.

Ichiro was gloating that Sato came to his defense. Elliot was about ready to explode before getting a look of disappointment from Sato. The car ride home was silent after that.

The final straw was when Elliot brought up the laundry and Ichiro shoved him into their aunt Honoka, who fell and he dropped clean clothes all over the ground. She reprimanded him for being so oblivious, even blaming him for running into her on purpose. He couldn’t take anymore people talking down to him and snapped, if no one was going to listen to him, fine, he would say what he wanted to say, screw the backlash.

Sato, and everyone else in the house, overheard them arguing and grabbing his step son, ordering Elliot to watch his mouth and take responsibility for himself, and quit blaming everything on Ichiro. Elliot relieved every moment from that day and started crying angrily. Sato said he was disappointed to call Elliot his son for the way he’d been acting, and Elliot had enough.

His wish had been easier to make than breathing, he knew what he wanted when he slammed the door to his room and found the feral Sylveon perched in his windowsill. That Ichiro would finally get a taste of his own medicine.

VOICE ❱ TBA
THEME ❱ TBA

❱ When he first moved to Japan, Sato and his step family tutored him for about a year in Japanese before he started primary schooling the same time as Ichiro even though he was a few years older; his Japanese is still heavily accented but he can fluently speak it now

❱ Elliot is also fluent in Italian and conversational in English, but really only speaks his native tongue with his mother

❱ During summer breaks his family in Italy will all pitch in to fly him back to stay with them for a month or two

❱ He chews on sprigs of cilantro because the taste reminds him of Nana's cooking

❱ Patting Elliot's head despite his best efforts and no matter how demeaning it feels, causes him to smile regardless of how much he resists

❱ He's still mildly unsettled by Kyubey and his presence in general, but he's excited to do something apart from everything that Sato and Ichiro can get involved in

❱ Elliot inherited pink paw pads from his father (opposed to the regular dark brown that Pancham have)

❱ The memories Elliot has of his father are vague and consist mostly of smells: motor oil from his job, something faintly like wine; and the tight squeeze of his embrace
