You may wish to read up on the canon storyline - askbubblelee.deviantart.com/ga… contains all the storyboards for both Imago (the changeling) and Bubble Lee's history... or at least the history with regards to how Imago became Bubble Lee, etc.  (There's a lot more storyboards beyond those though...)
