Breathtaking scenery. The people give this a real sense of scale; nicely done.

ha...i had a feeling you might. it was going to be the first shot to upload but my camera died during the transfer and it didn't get transferred to my computer at first.
as i trekked along the edge i thought about you. i knew you would get a kick out these shots.

thats so nice...

When I travel, I think of other people too, my mum especially as she has never been anywhere and I try to take photos that show her the beauty of place....

Its funny but I have never taken shots just for me, there are so many people I take in my mind wherever I go....

You are very kind

yeah when i travel i always have so many different people in my mind. sometimes i feel that i travel for others than for my own pleasure. i spend more time thinking about gifts and special shots to take to please everyone. but i always try to fit in a me time to enjoy. you need to take time for yourself as well. traveling is my biggest passion. if i couldn't travel i would go stir crazy.

People beg me NOT to bring them back presents, I have kinda an eccentric taste in things, dried chicken feet, stuffed alligators, you know, normal stuff, but my family has put the kibosh on me buying them any presents at all, but they will look at some of my photos.....but my mum is my biggest fan and she claps and cheers at anything I do....

And that is wonderful

hahaha...those are the best presents come on what would they prefer a cup or a t-shirt? they just don't get how awesome that is. when my mom goes on vacation she brings back clothes that look like they were suppose to be discontinued in the 80s. so i will take the stuffed alligator. that could be a cool story...you can tell people that you wrestled it with your bare hands and stuffed it afterward.

your mom sounds wonderful. you are very lucky. i have a best friend who is the same way. he always supports me no matter what i do and even if he has no interest in it he will take the time to learn.

aren't people just wonderful???

I went to Colorado and found a retro full length trench coat that had vibrant red, white and blue horizontal stripes and wore it home on the plane....My sons met me at the gate, took me home and I never saw the coat again....

I still miss that coat....

You are so fortunate with your friendship and marriage....
These are presents no money can buy

yeah...except i ended up with a gray t-shirt with a bow tie and ruffles painted on it. so my mom is banned from gift buying as well...hehe. i feel your pain, my husband polices my yellow mania or as he calls it "saving me from myself."

Yes, gift giving has to be an art, the next time I want to buy a mummified chicken leg I will just put it in my collection and then if anyone comes over and says," I love that dried up old chicken leg", it is theirs.....Ha ha
