Description A quick oldie from a painting battle I did with some "friends". Topic was anything fan art so here is a kamehameha xD

This is one of the 4 fan art pics I ever did in my life, needless to say they are all horrible.

I love it, and was honestly astounded by your comment. I won't lie any image that has a commonly known theme or story is subject to criticism based on that fact. Which in this case might mellow my opinoion. However by the same token any such image is limited by it's theme. What might be a well made piece may seem slightly off if the style doesn't match, which thus brings in another layer, that of confluence with theme, a dificulty in communication, and thus evaluation of others more than anything else.
Bearing that aspect of such criticism in mind, it masterfully mimics the essence of it's origins. This I find especially gratifying as it is in no way similar in art style, and stroke for stroke is nothing like a mimicry. It well approaches realism by its harsher strokes, and lighting. You've managed to do this without being overly specific which demonstrates well your ability to infer form without defining it, something I aspire to in my three dimensional designs. Also I love the composition. It's a classic image and the placement of the protagonist in the foreground greatly humanizes him. I like the chaotic aspect to many of the atmospheric strokes as well, they really imply that the air is fairly buzzing with energy.

I agree with what you said about the "harsher strokes" and the "ability to infer form"

God, if this is horrible, then, I bet Di Caprio is a terrible actor, and I guess Penelope Cruz is so ugly it hurts the eye, like jessica alba or others.
I bet it means Einstein was pretty dumb too.
Needless to say, I really love this painting, it really stresses the epicness of the DBZ battles, and the way it utterly destroys and shakes the whole environment too.
