cheers for the concept and mood, looking like a character with interesting personality
just wonder though, do you make a lineart of some sort before?
good week to you

no, i usually only sketch lines if i know that iΒ΄ll take it to a real polished piece.
with this one and others like it, i just block out some shapes and then refine. With lineart i get more control over some details but it usually takes more time to do (unless i only want to leave it at lineart)
thanks

i really wished to have a reply from you because i felt that this will be your style and way of work,
and you're interesting me because of this freedom and not bounding for lines.
i know its a common question, but i really wish to hear your answer - did you learn painting/ art before?
because i feel the need and "want" to learn the "basics" - fundamentals/ anatomy etc, but my other side of my brain says - just to paint and then to build up a character from it.
thank you as well

well i never studied anything art-related.
you will definitely learn basics no matter what you do, they wouldnΒ΄t be fundamentals if they werenΒ΄t always present. The question is whether itΒ΄s more effective/fast to learn only basics first or jump straight into complicated things and try to do full blown illustrations or whatever you want. All the schools teach the simple things first, so i dont know.

thing is i tend to rush things and ending up really frustrated not accomplishing anything
so i try different methods to work on. really like the touch of scratchy and fast painting
so trying to see how other approach it.
i know fundamentals are the basics but never really found a good source to learn from,
so i keep on searching and such

A very nice piece of art, I especially like the details on the face.
