What's your most used lens for photographing wildlife? Something with a 1.4x or 2x extender?

Thats a good question. It depends where I am. In Europe and Africa I use the 500mm the most. In Costa Rica I only had the 300mm 2.8 with me. But I used both converters very often. Down on the Falklands wildife is very tame and I used the 300 2.8 and 20-200mm very often. Only used the 500mm few times for seals and small songbirds.
The best lens for me would be a 400 2.8 + 70-200 2.8. Lets see what the future brings.

Can't argue with that logic, the 400mm f2.8 Nikon is amazing, I imagine the canon version would be awesome as well!
