My favorite of Poe's short stories, i was taught this story in school but when I went to a party as the red death for halloween no one could figure it out. Same as with the monkey's paw, no one knows the old stories anymore.

I hate when that happens. If it's not Saw or Freddy Krueger you might as well wear a Santa suit. I had a similar experience dressing up as one of the security force from THX 1138. I kept getting, "are you Robocop or something".

Pumpkinhead too, no one really knows much about the back story to it, but the original was amazing to me as a kid? They ruined it with sequels that were sh*t and a movies only as good as it's sequel or remake right? I don't think so. and I'd never seen THX 1138, but at least I had heard of it. (another one of those things that is lost along the progressing years... we forget our roots a little more everyday as a society)
And my costume as the red death took a lot of work. I made a swede jacket(took me four years to make but when I wear it I feel complete almost). It's like a hooded swede sport coat. The hood was actually attached to the collar, so when you put the hood on it popped the collar and added a drape to the hood for the costume.

I have a commission coming up, which is why I read the book. Now that Manga Mandy is done I will move onto that one.
Happy reading, I was really impressed with the book (and being a book geek, always ashamed I've never read it), never seeing any of the flicks and, so far, maintaining and Andrew Lloyd Webber-free life, I had near-to-no preconceived ideas what was to happen...

Yep, this was kind of a last minute decision, my E00 Skin White copic ran out of ink and I had no re-fill. No flesh colors on this one.
