These look so cute! The texturing is amazing!
I've been wanting to learn how to model characters like these!
Any advice that you can share with me?

All my 3D modeling and texturing work is done in blender.
I do 80% of the texturing in blender and add the last touch ups in photoshop.

love what you've done, character design, large range of stiyels and practices but mostly what stands out to me is your lay out/presentation something i know I struggle with when presenting my designs.
i mean i can do the drawing/design but i just dont know what to do in presenting it with use of out come
i dont suppose you could give me some layout pointers ?

hey,
well personally I prefer minimalism.
I don't like to go crazy on backgrounds for concepts/designs, I prefer plain white backgrounds because it looks a lot cleaner and it doesn't distract from the main design.
if it's a painterly style piece, I'll square select a small section behind the character/creature and either do a white/grey gradient or just use a chalk brush to blend
out a graphic backdrop, this makes the piece sit in a 3D space. (check my goblin and gigas concepts for an example)
I recommend going on google or bing and image search "character concept art" study the layouts, see what layouts really catch your eye.
for me I really like the layout styles of final fantasy XIV (14) and square enix in general.
hope that helps.

dam nice palette, i wish 3d can somehow look exactly like the 2d art, your monster designs are super appealing

thanks, and in regards to 3D looking like 2D, it CAN look like the 2D art but it's too intensive.
has to be a really high tri/poly count, custom shaders and some other tricks.

maya is the industry standard, but Blender is an amazing all in one tool for modeling, texturing, animating, rendering, sculpting, even 3D animated movie making and its even got its own built in game engine.
but I've only used it thus far for modeling, texturing, rigging and animating then the programmers import it to Unity.
for poly modeling and hand painted textures though I'd say this is my favorite.
but again I'm primarily a concept artist

NOPE.
totally free.
the makers of blender made blender for their in house software and they love to inspire creativity, so they made it free to use.
heres the website
www.blender.org/
and here's a short film made in blender

if you want to work in the entertainment industry then I recommend you take advantage of that and get as good as you can for those 3 years.
Maya is the industry standard.

well i could work in an anime industry (unfortunately they use paper to animate and use alot software to edit it digitally) but they dont use flash
american style animation adobe flash to animate(only some cartoons are really detailed like japanese anime)

allot of mecha anime use 3D, and some stylised studios use 3D for monsters, so it's not ALL paper anymore but I still assume it to be difficult to get in.
