Description
This was a cool one. Drawing some of the funky Rogue designs from her past. It was nice to try a little mixed media on a Marvel cover too. Hope to be able to use more of it on future covers..if they come.Microns, Copic markers and Dr. Martin's Bleedproof white on bristol board.

I don't know if someone else already mentioned this but in Rogue's first appearance she had two white stripes in her hair. If memory servers, that was Avengers annual #10 circa 1981.
Very cool picture. One thing I dig about the X-Men is their costumes change with the time, unlike most DC characters. Granted there are the occasional duds.

No. I haven't been able to color any of my covers yet. I'm not even sure I want to. Not much faith in my coloring abilities heh.

Thanks. Strangely enough, I suck at coloring my normal comic book inks. I'm a pain to color when I'm drawing and inking the way I want to. I've seen others do a good job on me, but I haven't figured out how to do it myself. Plus, Marvel seems to prefer giving me covers that are due yesterday. It's all I can do to get the line art done.

Yeah, we've all been there. Can't turn them away no matter how crazy the deadline is. At least, not yet. Beggers can't be choosers.
I've only done 7 covers, so no real regular editors. George Beliard is the closest to that and we have a good relationship. I figured I'd wait until I had a few under my belt before trying out other things. I'd like to try some digital painting and some greyscale mixed media. So far, they've wanted to play it safe with the usual pen and ink. Can't say I blame them, but I'll keep mentioning it until someone caves heh. Or I can take Jim Cheung's advice and just do it without asking. Not sure I'm up for that though. Hate to have to redo a cover if that backfires.
