More art! Finally!
This one was a very frustrating piece for me. I got the idea for it around two years ago, while watching "Kemono no Souja Erin", but I didn't have the courage or technique to attempt it then. Apparently I do now, though.
I tried to include a nice variety of creatures to make it more interesting, too. I used a few brushes from my brush pack when adding texture on this one. [link]

The main reason why this one was frustrating was because I accidentally deleted it halfway through, along with all my other Photoshop WIPs when I got overzealous cleaning up the files on my desktop. That wasn't much fun.
So, I started over on it, using a saved WIP like my new sketch and I'm glad I did.

It was a difficult piece, probably the most difficult that I've done, but it was very satisfying to complete it.

Thank you very much for the critique.
Looking at it again, I think the top parts of those legs are the weakest pert of the picture. One of the perspective adjustments that I applied to improve the composition threw off the proportions on those legs, I think. It doesn't help either that the dragon in front is covering up the lower part of the elbow.

I may try to make a retouch later tonight to try and address some of the shading and proportions in on that area. Of course, I'll do my best to remember that for future reference.

The glowing eyes are one of the parts that I had a lot of fun with on this piece. They definitely help set the stage.
I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Well, I've made a few modifications to it. The elbows and some of the muscles on those front legs should have a bit better definition now. I'm not able to completely resolve all the issues without major rework on many different layers, but I think the retouch helped minimize that mistake.
I think it's a rather nice improvement.

Alright, this and its accompanying piece are positively astounding.

There is so much going on in both an the full set is simply awe inspiring.

I would like to write something taking this as inspiration. Would that be acceptable to you?

I would of course link back to the pieces and give full credit for inspiration.

I'm very glad to hear that my piece can bring you inspiration. That's what I always hope for.

Hey,

Wow, this is such a great work of art! Something I always dreamt about in my fantasies. It's absolutely epic!

Sadly, I only discovered your art through the article "Stolen art report " written by *The-Artistic-A . Seems you're among the artists whose work was stolen.
I think you'd better watch out!

Greetings & all the best
Miou Q.

Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoy this piece.

Thanks for the heads up, as well.
I got a few notes about that, too. I generally encourage people to re-post my art, but I have had to hunt down a few improper uses of this picture.
It is some extra work, but I guess it's an honor in another way, too.

You're welcome - your picture is truely epic!
An honor all right, but with an aftertaste, I guess. Hope it doesn't happen too often!

CU & greetings

Dire wolves.

A titanic dragon lord.

How about a legion of golems and constructs, with siege machines and other powerful units, led by a wizard.
I tried to balance things out, in he extended version. [link]

Right after I uploaded that first piece, I decided to extend the picture.
It was quite a project, but it was definitely fun. Rather than good vs evil, I tried going for something closer to a law vs chaos theme.

You have a good skill when we are talking about colouring.
but the anatomy of the creatures is not so good.

Chromamancer In reply to CindyAvelino [2012-02-21 21:32:37 +0000 UTC]

Thank you very much.

Anatomy is probably the thing I struggle most with. I feel like I'm improving with it, as I practice, but there is always more to learn.
That's part of what makes art fun, though.
