Description
People nagged me for a tutorial on my method of making Asteroids, I even had some tutorial finished... But I donΒ΄t find it anymore. <.<So I decided to make a new one, done in Photoshop 7 but with a little thinking you should be able to do this in other programs too. Used a tablet, but I think its possible with a mouse since its nothing that requires fine details.
And to make my disclaimer perfect, I am not nearly as good with digital painting as a few of you are, so donΒ΄t expect anything too great... its just there to give you a few hints on functions, please experiment yourself to get better results.
I forgot something in it, the endstep was that I oncemore took a bigger black brush to shade it more.
If this was of help for you why not link me to the outcome?
I am curious... Also, if you know better ways please let me know.

Well what do you get asked by people? Which things do they like and want to recreate?

nice tutorial ^^
quite realistic ^^ i would suggest add some reflection on it and also the background should be more creative and free because it is the space ^^

Yes the background is stupid I know. Its because I was too lazy and I thought a too interresting BG would distract from the subject too much ("Yeah right! You are too lazy fool!" "Oh shut up conscience!"
)
Reflection? On a rock? WouldnΒ΄t that look unrealistic... I mean the moon isnΒ΄t reflective either...

no i don't mean your background is not good, i mean it might look more interesting it more space details added.
oh i should say lighting instead of reflection, you can have look of this [link]

It will be definitely useful, since I didn't know asteroids aren't that difficult to draw.

Thank you, I am not sure if this is really helpful since I donΒ΄t know much of digital painting for myself, but I guess there are some hints in it.
