Does it say you used an eraser tool on the swirl effect? I can't get it to disappear- I used the regular eraser tool but it made it white.

it's important, that you added the radial blur to the duplicated layer, and that you erase parts of THAT layer. Otherwise, if you merge it first, of forget to duplicate your base layer in the first place, the eraser will earse the actual picture.
