good song. we played it in jazz band, it was sweet.
I'm not a fan of landscapes, but I'm really digging the silouette.

I like the freedom of this image. If this was realism the figure wouldn't be a silhouette. The fluidness of the rocks seems very dream like almost like mounds of guey taffy.

looks kind of surreal in my opinion, because the rocks look so soft, i guess. that's cool.

Very nice, beautiful couours, you have to check out the Australian outback I'm sure it would inspire.
Have you ever finished something then gone back and refinished it, only to ruin it? I have an uncanny knack for diong that

Thanks for the compliment.
That would be a very LONG trip!
I have some relatives in Melbourne who I have never met.
Yes, I have frequently gone back and ruined a painting. With pastels it has been reworking the ground to the point of saturation. I'm more conservative with layering than I used to be.
It's hard to know when to stop . . I always want the quality of my work to be consistent at the least and hopefully improving all the time.

It's finally done! I was reserving my comment for when I saw a finished piece.
It looks great, I can deffinately see the influence in the way you rendered the mountains. And is that her standing there?
I loveit. +fav.

Wow, nice one, I feel like the rocks are about to start moving around, just as if it had always been that way. Hope I get to be that silouette soon, standing in the desert just me and my surroundings. Beautiful!

It keeps on changing. In a way I liked the empty sky, but this sure fits in with the rest of the work.

i don´t know Georgia O'Keefe´s work very well but i like the painting a lot even if i can´t campare it
the sky and clouds are amazing, you work very well with the subtle tones and colors of the clouds
the rocks still need a little work just to blend everything
i know what you mean when you say that looking at it here helps... i think it has something to do with the fact that we see it smaller and in another context.

thanks Lucio. . .yes, the rocks need more work.
It's not a copy of one of her paintings, just a tribute to her because I have always loved her work.

oh don´t worry
i´ll check the website, thanks
i´m going to bolivia feb 2nd, that´s wednesday, but you can still send the portrait if you want, there´s always people in my house. but i don´t remember if you wanted to send it to my house in brazil or to my brother´s house in miami.. he always comes to brazil because of his work so maybe it´s easier for you to send it to him.
i´m very excited about getting a portrait from you.. it´s very nice of you i don´t even know how to thank you. i´ll figure a way
you´re the only person who made a portrait of me besides my father. and it´s so funny to imagine it on your exhibition
well, i hope you answer soon so we can decide these things, but if you want to wait until i get back it´s ok too, but if you send it while i´m away it would also be a great surprise to when i get back
cheers! hope all is well and prosper. i´m planning on getting back to work as soon as i get back and i think this year will be a busy one.. i hope.

Love the shape that forms in the rocks! I've always loved how mother nature left such details for me to lose myself into. But this is a very sad painting. Just the emptiness you feel and the silhouette's journey ahead....

interesting how it made you feel.
Quite often what feels lonely to others feels peaceful to me.
Georgia Okeefe lived in the New Mexico desert and it was her haven and inspiration.
She knew that she paled in comparison to this place we call home.

I feel the same way, strangely enough. I really love how the clouds merge into the rocks in the background. It is a really beautiful effect.
