Description
Wow, it's been a while, but here's another Snaiad model. This guy is one of the picozoans that designed back in 2009. It's pico number 67 if anyone is curious as to how close I came to the original: zippo4k.deviantart.com/art/A-H…I can guarantee I'll post at least one more picozoan sculpture before too much time has passed, but I'm in no rush to start gluing individual hairs onto aliens again. My next sculpture will definitely be a rhinograde however, as I've had one completed for some time, minus the bristles I need to glue on...
Anyways, thanks for sticking with me and following the junk I upload.
Oh, and Snaiad belongs to

When I first saw this I thought that you were into bug sculpting but this isn't a sculpture of a real bug? It looks similar to a weevil but I couldn't figure out which species this was so I went and got my insect book but no it wasn't there... then to find out this is imaginary... Bugs are not easy to make and make them look believable too just like y.. My brain hurts now haha. I am impressed I love bugs.

Well, this guy is probably pretty similar in size and behavior to a weevil, so you're not too far off. It is basically an alien bug.

WOOOOAH! Oh my god! You really went all out on this one! It's beautiful!
Just.... WOW!
And I strongly approve of the color choices! I think peanut-orange/brown looks excellent on this animal!

I should point out this was one of those picos I made just to bring up the number of representations to 100 for that project. I never actually thought about how this one would live its like. Perhaps the setae on the 'nose' do serve as vibrissae, allowing it to feel it's way in the dark. Perhaps, like the finner setae on an insect's anntenna, picos and other snaiadi 'vertebrates' carry fine, tubular chemoreceptors on their skin and these have been hypertrophied in some picos?

Thanks! All that means a lot coming from you! And I really like the idea of the snout being used as a way to "see" in the dark. Look forward to another pico model sometime soon... ish?

You're very welcome
It really looks like something you might find in an exhibition on Snaiadi wildlife

I had an idea for a Snaidi creature....perhaps I should share it on my gallery. It's sort of a Chameleon analouge.

I am also already drawing (since 2 weeks, and I expect to finish it in february, as I am busy with my master's thesis) something between lemur and camelon from Snaiad. I have already sent sketch to Nemo, I can send unfinished drawing also for you, so our creatures would not collide too much.

Yeah, absolutely! Snaiad already has toxoglossos, but it could always be another animal competing for the same niche!
