Awesome, I love to watch how you do the assignments (given the assignment is represented by image title), it's always exactly the thing and very well "sold" (executed)
I admire your work sir

Woah! Are the Orcs coming back to MTG this year? Its been a long time. I'm really confused why they removed this creatures in the story for a lonf time. Anyway, I love the art, I'm a goblin and orc art fan. I love those rainbow thingy, and that gives me an idea to practice my light effects.

How did you make these light rays? I've tried to paint those "rainbows" by hand and they don't come out very good =/ Did you use some gradient filter or something like that? It's too awesome!

Painted a ray one third the width I wanted in a yellow tone and set the layer to Hard Light if I recall. Then duplicate that layer, move it over a little and shift the color to red. Duplicate the yellow again, move to the other side and shift to blue. There very well may be a better way to create the effect but that's how I did it.

Don't see any reference from yourself in this one!
Reminds me of one of my all time favorite Magic pieces- "Righteous Blow". Β The textures on the shield and armor are fantastic.

Lol, you're right, not much reference of me in this one except for the expressions which I based on some self pics for a bit more authenticity.

Did the art direction call for Orcs or were they your choice? Just wondering since we haven't seen Orcs in MTG in a long time. Love the Art and the Card.
