Surprised you still found access to the work of Nitsch, I am sure there is overwhelming info on Viola to be found on the net.
Bill Viola has been a pioneer in the development of Video Art Installations including sound. His "Ascension" and 'The Quintett of Remembrance" are on Display in SLC now. He is an incredible Artist and Humanist. Yesterday's lecture drew so many that they had to set up an additional space with video-transmission for the overflow crowd.

Wow! That's cool. I was thinking it was a drug reference. I've been asking people where I could get a cow's eyeball and I haven't really got anywhere with that. I was talking to this bear outfitter/hunter from Canada the other day and he was saying that the eye almost immediately glazes over. Darn!

That reference was quite intentional actually, throws you off, even the owner of the name, but I insisted. Before that i had not known that this neutering was that invasive, it kind of shook me up. Too bad about the eyeballs. I had a ritual photo+cooking+eating session of a cows heart once upon a time. Also fish gutting sequence. I guess you would love the Nitsch rituals. Well today & tomorrow is Bill Viola Day, he is in town, i am just between lectures.

Yes itβs real balls.
It was a commissioned piece to memorialize the neutering of a friends Dalmatian after he had bred him. He kept one of the sons of that litter and then had them both neutered. For a long time he had kept the balls in formaldehyde before drying them out. Then he asked me to do an Art-piece with them. So this is the transformed version of Dalmation balls. The Hash is an abbreviation of his name.
