I wanted to make this piece REALLY good. So.. heres what I did:I created a vertical sunset gradient, tinted the ends of their wings and tried to give them an ethereal glow. I had to edit it here and there in GIMP so it would look a little bit better haha
I had A LOT of fun drawing this!This is a point commission for NeptuneMercury who wanted Celestia and Luna with a background, and wanted them to stand out. I hope I gave you what you wanted! Because I'm quite happy with it.

personly all i see here is a wonderful pice of work
the shading is well done
the feathers look super detailled
there position is very nice ans smooth and they do not look stiff
the only thing that could be better is there face/muzzles they look a bit odd to me but thats very minor
the background could not have been drawn better
there hair is very show acurite
the armore is very nice
the grass looks abit like green paper more then grass
but thats just nic picking
the night could be darker too
oo and the shading on the wing just OOOOO that feture just made it complete
so a awsome score in my opinon is 9.5/10

To start off, I do like the idea of this drawing-- A good sister picture with both of them in front of their respective celestial body. I think you have a pretty good understanding of pony anatomy and with more practice, the rest of it will fall into place. The lining of this piece is okay, though is is a bit rough in some places. Practicing keeping a smooth, consistent line will add a lot to your art. Also, this is just more of a tip, but making the lines thicker where the shadows are will add a lot of depth. I really like the different colors at the end of the wings; that's a very creative idea that I don't see done a lot. For the shading, it looks good for the most part but if you made the darkest parts darker, it would look a lot smoother. Speaking of shading, I don't really see a lot of it in the hair.
