Wavedancer, the friendly pink sea pony from my story Sun, Surf and FriendshipI wanted to sort of reintroduce sea ponies, but I thought that the original, seahorse-type characters always looked rather odd. Besides, I think a hippocamp fits better with the whole FiM world.
Original character of Wavedancer is (C) Hasbro. I just put my own spin on her.
PLEASE NOTE: I used a reference pic of a hippocampus drawn in FiM style as a basis for this piece. I originally found it on one of the pony image boards but I can't find it again. So credit goes to the artist, whoever it is.

It seems a lot of people are only starting to draw them again.
As for the background, just dug through the Google image search for coral reefs and used a few filters and blurs on it.

Ahh this is so awesome! I really hope we see some seaponies/merponys in season 2!! This is an awesome design, she looks like she could really swim easily and looks aerodynamic (if you can use that word for underwater animals). : D
