Despite being set horrifically ablaze, due to an incident involving Triple-S, it would seem Charity is actually still okay. That said, when she later shows up to Grizzco's establishment - seeking work - the boss isn't entirely sure she's really all there. Contrary to Mr. Grizz's views on the matter, methinks she simply misunderstood her teacher (this happens a lot).

Although Splatoon's Inklings are indeed all based on Squids - all of whom have ten limbs each (represented by four major limbs, and their six hair-tentacles*) - a key opposing faction has always been the Octarians, whom are based on Octopi instead.
