Description
Here's a portion of a series of illustrations I may be commissioned to do for a certain project (very vague, no?).Here, we have the intermediary stages of an unfortunate woman metabolizing into her body a Japanese sports car. While drawing this was interesting in determining how a human body can be converted into mechanical parts, I was struck by how horrific such an occurance could be, so I filed this under "Horror and Macabre".
Personally, my idea of a nightmare is absorbing into my body a Pinto.

Especially if you were accidentally hit from behind?!
I've always loved Rick Baker's werewolf transformation sequence from American Werewolf In London for similar reasons. He was really the first to portray the experience as the gruelingly painful nightmare it would surely be!

Be warned - when you finally do rent and start watching it the effects will totally blow you away (even after all these years and bigger budget films)! If memory serves, he was the first in the industry to receive an Oscar for Special Makeup FX and his work may well haunt you forever (in a good way).

Absurbing into a Pinto!? *shivers* That would be REALLY horrible.
You really managed to get a most macabre and painfull feeling into it. The transformation looks very smooth, and the result very realistic. Instant fave!

Thank you. It's a struggle to not add too much detail, but this was definitely an interesting drawing to work on. I hope to have sometime early next week the entire progression of woman to machine.

Interesting idea.. now I'm going to have nightmares.. XD
The faces look good and the twisted mechanical parts look well done too. Personally I think a motorcycle could look better as a transformation than a car.

A sports car is a whole lot of car to absorb into a human body. A human/bike hybrid would make a cool transformation.

Thank you. I figured if a person absorbed a car, that sucker would be turned inside out. I didn't have the guts to depict the same thing happening to the human though.

Very neat idea, i get where the Tetsuo reference comes from ( I used to have "Body Hammer and Man of Iron till a friend "borrowed them), would i be right in thinking i can partly see the Xenomorph from "Alien" in the left hand side? or is it just my Alzheimers again.....

I've never seen "Tetsuo" or "Alien" (although, oddly enough, I've seen "Aliens" and loved it).

I've got three more stages of the transformation to go, another Opey page, a portrait to do, and maybe that Army of Darkness drawing I've never seemed to have gotten around to doing. Whew. That's a lot.

So is she turning into a car, or fusing with it into some sort of Transformers kinda thing or what?
π: 0 β©: 1
cluedog In reply to Miracle-overloading [2007-09-21 16:40:17 +0000 UTC]
She's fusing with a car due to nanites, but I'll explain that when I post the entire transformation (because, being a dunderhead, I forgot to include that in the artist's comments).
