Hey man, this looks great! You shouldn't be so hard on yourself. My only comment would be that the outlines on the arms are too strong compared to the rest of the character. Keep it up!

cool beans! I will definitely slim down the lines on the reference sheet. The right hand is wunky too, but it will all come out better when I start disassembling it.
