This is a small pen and ink drawing that I did as a birthday present for a coworker who shares my love of Wendy Pini's ElfQuest. She's also a big slash writer, and since her birthday happened to fall on Gay Marriage Day in my lovely home state of MA this year . . . I thought a male/male Recognition was in order.Cutter and Skywise are fascinating. I wondered for years whether there could even *be* queer elves in EQ, what with Recognition . . . and then Richard P. said that elves are pretty much biflexible (as well as polyamorous), and *then* the second book of the "Wolfrider" arc came out with Cutter and Skywise's "strange" Recognition story . . . and it made me SO happy. I enjoyed drawing it, though it was a quickie. This is the most anime-ish looking thing I've done in ages . . . elves have big eyes!

Elves can soo be gay. In Worldpool one of the elf girls talks about how all her lovemates had been female.
It would be awesome though if they could recognize each other, though pointless since the point of that is so they can have kids and carry on their race.

This is actually a canon scene from one of the comics. I also remember a scene in which Cutter and Skywise talked about whether recognition was possible for them. Cutter said "yes for the soul, but no for having cubs."
I believe that the Pinis call the elves "omnisexual," which I think is a fancy way of saying that most of them don't draw gender distinctions when it comes to attraction/lovemating.

This is fantastic. I hadn't heard that about what Richard said, or the strange Recognition story, I'll have to go look them up. This is just awesome though. They'd be such pretty little gay boys together ^^

Aww, I'm glad you like it. I am wincing now at the relative sizes of their heads, but it's still the closest I've come to Piniesque.

Well, all sorts of characters really. I've been doing a bunch of work on the various female characters in particular, since there seems to be less fanart of them. I've drawn some of the boys, though, too. (I'll be posting up fairly soon, I hope.)
I'm actually quite frustrated with Moony and Padfoot, my particular favorites, because neither of them is cooperating with me. But, I'll get them yet.
