Wow. Each region on the map really puts each other in a great contrast. The northern region, central region and southern region.
If only somepony were to make a RPG game like Skyrim and your starter point would be determined whether you choose to be a Pegasus, Unicorn or Earthpony.
But maybe it would be a good idea to wait with that until all the areas and cities on the map have had a appearance in the show, otherwise, there might be some big details that are way off.

It's pretty neatly thought out (by the creators of the original map that I copied from), with the arrid south, the mountainous and forested central region and the sub-arctic tundra-like north. And yeah I think you're right about the map. It should probably be concidered to be in a state of flux as the writers will add new places when they need to.

Also I always thought it Los Pegasus like Los Angeles.
Since los angeles means "the angels" and angels are people with wings.
so los pegasus would mean "the pegasus" and thats a pony with wings.
That always made so much more sense to me than fans thinking its supposed to be Las Vegas since wouldnlt a pony version of that be Las Haygas?

Las Pegasus is mentioned in It's About Time . It is referenced when Rainbow Dash gives the report that nothing dangerous is coming from Fillydelphia all the way to Las Pegasus. The name is a play on Las Vegas according to the episode's writer M.A. Larson.

And yes I'm familiar with the quote in fact the way it's said is another reason i thought it was a play on los angeles because L.A. is much further out than vegas and when one says from x to x they usually mean from the farthest two places. in other words searching from philidelphia to LA would be a much wider search that philidelphia to vegas.
but as i said if the writer actually said that's what they intended. *shrug*
