My entry for the "Gender Bender" contest being held at

Gender bender - Contest - New deadlinewith the result of poll , we will extend more two weeks (and few days). Now the contest will end on 16 june.

what do you have to do:
♦ One Gender Bender character.
♦ This includes Human characters and Animals.

what you have to show in your entry:
♦ You will choose a character from any Mythology / Fairy Tale / Folklore. (worldwide)
♦ You can choose some of the region/country that you live in this way you will represent something more creative, with a not well-known story. (famous stories are also welcome.)

After going back and forth I decided to gender bend the Norse god Thor. The god is described as "fierce-eyed, red-haired...associated with thunder, lightning, storms, oak trees, strength, the protection of mankind, and also hallowing, healing and fertility." [reference ].

My entry shows the story of Thor's fishing trip with the giant (now giantess?) Hymir, and their encounter with one of Loki's children, the sea serpent Midgard (Jörmungandr) [story ].

I've always loved Renaissance art, and it definitely influenced my use of color, depth, and motion in this manip. I hope that shows. On a downside, blending Midgard was a trouble spot for me. I have no clue why the serpent was so difficult. If you have some pointers, do share. I'd love to nail that part.
