Description
Second part of my series Nightmares in Nostalgia. This time, we take a twisted look at the classic 90s cartoon Hey ArnoldI never saw the story of poor Helga ending well. I mean, the girl made a shrine to her crush out of his chewed bubble gum! That's kind of crazy that never turns out good! So, I decided to take her story to its logical conclusion.
I originally wanted her to look much older and malnourished. But she just came out like her regular 9 year old self. Go figure.

Honestly this is exactly how I feel she'll ultimately end up like. This is unless, she starts to change her attitude. Truth is, I actually could not ever imagine Arnold and Helga together back then. Some of Helga's bullying was downright bitchy, even for a 9 year old. And she constantly complains about how Arnold never seems to like her, when the answer should be painfully/agonizingly obvious. And I think it's pretty clear that Arnold prefers a nice girl like himself or Lila. That's not to say Helga should become a total Mary Sue, but at least clean up her act enough to where she's not constantly being an ass to Arnold (and everyone in general) and more openly show her better side (e.g. not slavedriving Phoebe, compliment people, offer her lunch without spilling it on Arnold etc.).

It was funny to watch as a kid, but now I'm starting to realize that Helga was a total creeper and stalker, and her love for Arnold seems more of an unhealthy obsession than true love. (tsundere my ass, Helga is is straight-up yandere).
And she's only 9; lord knows what she'll do when she's a teenager. Honestly she'd wouldn't be out of place on one of those Lifetime tv movies (as the obsessive stalker, not the heroine).

Yeah...Helga's feelings kind of strike me as less than healthy.

Sure I can understand your vision of Helga here. But, did you really watch the whole series? cuz, if you did, you can see that Helga control her feelings a way better toward the end. She already confesses her feeling for Arnold in the movie. (even if she take it back, at the end). On this basis, in the ''April Fool'' episode (this is the episode right after the movie), you can see a change, she acts less excessively. Before that, she even saw a psychologue in ''Helga on the couch'' and sincerely, you can understand why she act that way and where her attitude comes from. She is a complicated character with a clear backstory. So After all, Helga is not as crazy as people think. But well! You have the rights to draw whatever you want and that's ok! lol
Also, Craig have already confirmed that Arnold will return his feelings in the second movie. Wink, Wink.

I know Helga got better as the series went on. But don't take this pic too seriously. I made this as a joke, not a serious analysis of the character.
