Lex received a box as a gift from someone anonymous. When he opened it, it was filled with school books. He went into his room with the books for a closer look. From what was taught, he guessed it was for either kindergarten or first grade. Lex lived by himself and had no children so he had no idea why the box had been sent to him.

Since the box was sent to him, Lex thought he might as well read them. He started with the reading book because he thought it would be the most interesting. The story was about a fairy princess on a journey through a magical forest. He became so involved with the story that he did not notice the changes happening to his body.

His body became younger. All traces of maleness disappeared. Then he gained the features of a little girl. As he became fully female, the name Lex faded from his mind. It was replaced with the name Lexi.

Lexi continued reading the story. She had to finish it and write a report about it by Monday. Her kindergarten did not have homework but she was in first grade. Each day she had homework in a different subject. She did her best to keep up so she would be ready for what was to come.

Her parents entered her room. Lexi felt like something was not right, but her parents quickly calmed her. They assured her that she would be able to finish her report in time. Then they told her they were going out to eat.

Lexi put her books away. Everything would still be there when she got back. It was not like everything was going to suddenly change without warning. At the restaurant, she was given some questions to answer and a crossword puzzle to solve. She had trouble with some of the questions but with her parents' help she was able to do it.

When she got home, she wrote a report on the story she just read. She spent about an hour watching TV and went to bed early because it was Sunday. The next day was Monday and it was a school day.

Her mother woke her up on Monday morning. Breakfast was already made and her book bag was next to the door fully packed. For a moment, Lexi wondered what she would do if she ever had to do those things herself. She thought it silly to worry about such things because she would not need to do them for a long time.
