Edward was having a very strange day. His sister and a close friend of his were doing their first on stage performance of the year and Edward had gone to see them. When he went over to talk to them before their performance, he was approached by their ballet instructor. She explained that they were short a few performers and asked if he wanted to take part in the ballet.

He told her it was an all female cast and he would be embarrassed to be up there with them. In hindsight, he could have told her he did not know anything about ballet but that was the first thing that came to mind. She responded by changing him into a girl.

Edward had become Elizabeth. It was like his mind and body suddenly stopped and then started again. Without missing a beat, the ballet instructor asked Elizabeth if she would like to take part in the ballet. She declined. The ballet instructor got angry and changed her into a duck.

Elizabeth the duck did not have time to react. By the time she knew what was going on, the transformation had already happened. The ballet instructor grabbed her and placed her onstage. She tried to leave the stage but all possible escape routes were blocked. She ended up just running around quacking. The audience thought it was all part of the performance and applauded.

Her sister appeared onstage dressed in a black ballet outfit. She told the audience she was an evil witch and placed a spell on the princess which turned her into a duck. Two or three dances later, a male ballet dancer came out and promised to rescue the princesses. The cast had been all female, but this was her close friend who had been turned into a boy.

The witch and her supporters and the prince and his supporters battled through a series of dances. All Elizabeth could do was run around and quack. Her sister tripped over her during one of the dances. It was an accident but that was exactly how the play was supposed to go. Thanks to the princess in duck form, the witch was defeated and the prince could release her from her curse.

Her close friend gave her a big kiss and Elizabeth changed back into a girl. She was delighted. Everything was back to normal. They did a dance together with the entire cast surrounding them. Even her sister was back though in a different costume.

The audience gave a standing ovation, the ballet instructor complimented Elizabeth and the others on their performances, and her best friend became her boyfriend. She had a date the following evening. Her sister was delighted at the news. Her new boyfriend certainly did not mind being the only male performer though he hoped others would join him eventually. Overall, it had been a very strange day.
