Background:

When he was little, his big sister wanted to try ice skating when she was ten. She ended up getting bullied and discouraged in the youth class by other peers, so Jacob decided to go with her, thinking he could be her knight in shining armor. Jacob ended up helping her keep her focus, leading to her bringing him to the ice rink more often. He would watch her skate as well as get lessons from her that she was taught by the instructors at the rink since he wasn’t old enough to take the class she was in. He ended up joining classes later on himself, finding it more and more enjoyable the more he went to the rink. He now skates competitively, and thanks his sister for getting him into the sport.

Family:

Big Sister: He idolizes her, when he was little he would copy almost everything she did. Now that they are both older, she is busy running an apparel design company while Jacob does Ice Skating. He is happy when she watches him skate, or when she comes to visit. She is five years older than him. She is also the person who designs his skating attire.

Mother: She supports his skating and is the best cook he knows. She will send him texts before a competition, wishing him good luck.

Father: He used to be an ice skater as well in his youth, which is why Jacob’s sister wanted to try ice skating, since she had found old pictures of their father skating. He supports Jacob and likes to boast about him back home, a very proud father.

Cousin: His cousin would often tease him since he was the youngest one at the time until they finally had their kid. He loves to mess with Jacob and mess up his hair. He is happily married and they have a beautiful daughter who is Jacob's niece.

Niece: His cousin who is older than his sister had a kid who he would babysit when he was younger. She is currently 10 and is always excited to see Uncle Jake. She watches his skating performances and is always begging him to teach her. She is in dance and soccer, but wants to learn to skate explicitly from Jacob himself sometime. Whenever family goes to visit Jacob, she is always the first to greet him with a jump hug.
