that's a lot of extra scene work just to animate a fabric i would've made a simple flag
it's a great scene . i like the lights . haven't seen carpet like that with Maya before

hehe well we were given a week and a half for this project, and I finished the fabric part in a couple hours so I decided to model a room for it
I've seen lots of pictures of futuristic and contemporary kitchens with fancy indirect lighting so I wanted to try making it.
The carpet is actually the Maya fur plugin, I used the "sheep" setting and made the hairs really short, worked pretty good huh?

lol that's funny . with a week and a half i would've made a castle for my flag too interiors are kinda fun to do . i've tried a few but haven't really nailed it perfectly yet . it's a lot of work to create a full scene
i have the hair plugin for C4D and i'm guessing that's very similar to Maya's Fur . i tried it a few times . takes forever to render and the in-editor preview isn't great . i was never able to make realistic grass with it
i don't think C4D's Hair has presets like "sheep" . that would be too convenient for a Maxon product . and ya your carpet looks great
