Where to begin with this one.
When I look at it, it tells me or makes me feel the person is pensive. Deep in thought, or maybe just unmoved (by the amount of alcohol he's just had)
It's a good photo altogether with a few things I'd say could be changed or adjusted. It's nice being B&W but I think it's just too heavy. The black against the white is too much and really its drowning out the expression of this person. And what I think could be done, instead of what you're doing is to focus on the detail a bit more than the shadows, etc. it brings out more of the picture.
In future you should try and higher aperture to get a lower depth of field but I thing that extra detail would help these portraits a lot.
The dimensions of the photo is good but I think a little too cramped.
In saying all that I like the photo, I love the different shades that came out with his beard and the potential shadows with his wrinkles, showing the age of this man. It's very good.
To conclude, I'd try a higher aperture, more space for the photo in general and easy on the black/white adjustments. Well done.
