Good heavens, you didn't have to suffer from all the Team Gai fandom drama when Neji's death took place.
This includes:

- Hundred of comments and fanarts when the chapter was released describing how heartbroken TenTen was gonna be, because the love of her life was dead (yeah right XD)

- After TenTen's chapter, with her not reacting in any way was released, they complained about this and another bunch of fanfics were created about how TenTen couldn't cry or feel sad because they were in a middle of a fight (didn't stop everybody else from feeling sad)... and becasue she WAS OBVIOUSLY PREGNANT WITH NEJI'S BABY AND COULDN'T AFFORD TO LOSE IT IN AN MISCARRIAGE.

- Chapter 700 came out and there were two factions: The first about TenTen being married to Rock Lee, and another with TenTen remaining single forever because Neji died (and she had to worship the corpse or something). This got even worse when LeeTen fans got sad over not being confirmation of who Metal Lee's mother was, and NejiTen's radicalism escalating to the point of making her suicidal or necrophilic.

- The novel came out an explained that TenTen's reason for not wanting to get married is because she has never fallen in love with a single boy in her whole life, but she admires and likes Lee the most (doesn't even remember Neji, while Lee and Hinata do) which made people even madder (both radical factions) and decided that it wasn't canon but their fanfics were.
Funny enough, they don't complain about the other novels... but whatever XDDD

- In the end, everybody relaxed and decided to enjoy their own headcanons, fanarts and staff.
Metal Lee's mother can be everybody, including Gaara XD, and TenTen can marry whoever she wants in thousands of alternative endings with NejiTen, LeeTen, GaaTen, NaruTen, RandomTen, etc... babies.

Except for some crazy people still wanting to start a fight, everything's fine now. Meanwhile, Team 7 shipping fandom still attack each other.
I guess it is the power of no Team Gai couple being canon.

Eh... like I said not a big fan of either one. Though I will admit I got more of a brother/sister relationship between them instead of possible lovers.

Wonder how many of those giving Tenten a pass because of the war continuously give Hinata shit for not breaking down though (I find the Hinata-haters are hypocritical when it comes to her).

Agreed, Hinata cried when Neji died but had to endure the pain (canonically) to snap Naruto out of his depresive mode.
She still had tears on her cheeks while doing so!

Then we see her crying again in the funeral, and visiting the tombstone years later.
What else do they want?

Someone other than Hinata to have her moments (preferably their head canon) because while there aren’t many they are far more impactful than any other female character (possibly tied with Sakura).

Team Gai is also my favourite team, with TenTen being my favourite character and the main reason I started the series XD

My OTP is LeeTen, I'm sure you noticed, I've been shipping them since Chuunin Exams and enjoyed their interactions and moments together in all sources. But I also understand that TenTen's main goal is not romance but becoming a legendary kunoichi.
So if her decided to forget about love (in order to avoid becoming a housewife) in her twenties to focus on her career I wouldn't be mad about that because it's still in character, I can still enjoy my AUs in which she goes on missions even after getting married (strong progresive mom style)

I think TenTen is Metal Lee's mom because of the hints they've been adding since the ending, but if she is not I will not get mad or day that I hate the kid. Metal would be still the precious son of Rock Lee, my second favourite character in the series. Also, nobody said you have to be the biological mother to have a strong connection with a kid, TenTen could also work as a godmother, fav aunt, his heroine... even his step-mother XD
There are a lot of possibilities.

What I'm more worried about concerning TenTen is she becoming a legendary kunoichi. That's her dream and the point of the whole character, to prove that a woman can be as amazing as a man and be an imponent historical figure if she works it out.
So if it is confirmed that after all those years she couldn't make it and the only thing she can do is to sell stuff in a shop (no legacy, no students, no lover... NOTHING)... then I would be mad, because that's what she wanted the most. And so, she would be the only main character whose dream didn't come true. That's a reason to be mad, not pairings.

When Neji died I got really sad because I thought he deserved a better farewell, like a 1 vs.1 fight against Obito or Madara. I understood his death meant freedom but still wanted to see him as the head of the Hyuga clan, alongside Hinata or Hanabi.
I wanted a bright future for him changing the clan rules, but I can understand Kishi's metaphor.
So when that happened I couldn't wait to read the fans comments and most of them were: now NejiTen/NejiHina/NejiLee/NejiNaru/Nejiwathever can't happen.
Nothing about the character's development or wishes, just ships. That gets on my nerves even today.

I ship Neji and even have threesomes with him included, but that is the last thing to worry about once a character you are supposed to like die XDDDDD

That's cool, I don't hate others for liking different parings, they're just an extra to add to a story if one wants to.

That's a possibility, we don't know yet.

That is understandable, I hope Tenten became a legendary kunoichi or is almost at that point...

And I agree about Neji. For me, wouldn't have killed off any of the Konoha 12 plus Sai, or the Sand Siblings. Everyone else? I'd pick who'd have the most impact. Kakashi, Might Guy, Baki (the sensei of the Sand Sibilings and he doesn't even show up! He'd be a great to fight an Edo Tensei'd Hayate, maybe have Yūgao Uzuki find out about what Baki did to Hayate...), some of the Five Kage except for Gaara since he's one of the Sand Siblings. More I'd list but that's enough for now.

I understand that fully. It would get on my nerves too if I saw that all the time. There's more to Neji than just a paring!

Exactly! Shipping should be just an extra about what you like about the character... not the main and/or only thing people care about.

Still sad that my dear Neji had to die like that, he deserved an extraordinary final 1 vs. 1 battle at least. T_T

Yosh. I have a few big ships with Neji, but that's BECAUSE I love this character.

My, I'm dreaming about a Neji vs Saske... Or an epic Neji vs Madara at the very end of the story, just like Gai! *_* Omgggg

Neji vs. Madara would have been so EPIC.

In fact, I think Team Gai should have goten rid of Madara together while Team 7 had Kaguya. As far as I like Naruto and co. they don't have to do everything.
