I remember when I was 16 years old, I was ninety-nine per cent sure I would be on Mars by the time I was 30. That was 1994 (don't bother calculating - I am 44 now ). Barring that, I definitely would be working at NASA.

What happened after?

Why did I not finish Space Engineering? Why did I switch to Architecture? There was a time I even was dead-set on doing Arts Major... What happened to THAT guy?

See where I am going with this? Are you of an age (doesn't have to be 44) where you ask similar questions about your life? It doesn't have to be that you are unhappy with what you have now. However, what about those other you's?

Does it feel like you've constantly been building towers in the middle of the ocean to reach some glittering sunny realm beyond the storm clouds, only to tear them down again and start all the time anew while the infinite dark closes on you from the far horizon of time?

If you haven't asked these questions yet, be sure you will once the average total of time in front of you becomes shorter than the one behind. Unless you plan to live to 500 - as I do, which is another folly, a tower built on smoke and mirrors - more on that one in another picture.
