Thank you so much Ms. Style! I am so sad it is getting cold here and the moths are bedding in tight. I am only seeing a few small grass moths now. Β

My main camera is a CANON T5i Rebel 700D, I have a 18-55mm and 75-300mm lens to go with it. For my macro photography, I didn't want to invest in an expensive lens until I was sure that I liked it. So I am using Newer macro tubes sizes 12mm, 20mm, and 36mm. you can use one, two, or three tubes at the same time to give you closer magnification. For my needs this has been a great choice for me. I have nothing but positive things to say about it.Β
I also use a Nikon S9300 COOLPIX, although they have been phased out due to product problems.Β

Wow seems i need to know more of photography than I imagined. People are very much invested in Nikon cameras. Mainly the DSLR versions (which i look to get into). So that appears to be mu best bet.

I Like my Nikon for 1 reason, I can stick it in any pocket and go! There are issues staying focused (but you can have that with any auto focus camera), however the Nikon is auto focus all the time you cannot turn it off. It is really a good camera for pics of the family, and general photography. That said, I would gladly toss it in the garbage in exchange for a new lens to fit my CANON. If you spend a little extra you can get a far better camera with the Canon T5i, which has the ability to be upgraded with better lenses, time exposure equipment, and so on. My little Nikon was $350. and my Rebel was $650, and that was with both lenses. My macro tubes were only $35. My advice would be simple, ask yourself "What do you want to photograph"? If you are think just simple shots of parties, the family, and pets, then the Nikon would be worth your time. If you have plans to take it to a higher level, with shutter, time, close up control, you are better off to invest in a higher quality camera.

Very interesting. As far as what I plan to shoot it is pretty much places (like places in my hometown of NYC) and action figures I purchase and collect. (which I also want to get back into). I also want to be able to clean and touch up the photo I shoot and capture to be able to post it here and various forms of social media. This seems to be a great way to also connect with all kinds of photographers from all over the world (such as yourself). So maybe that can be able to answer your question. But I do thank you for the insight!

My pleasure, I just don't like to see people purchase the wrong equipment, and then regret it. It take the joy out of a wonderful pastime!! Β

Yes I can imagine. At least I got some knowledge of what to purchase and use for the photography I plan to shoot.
