A couple weeks or so ago, one of the Games Workshop stores I frequent had a model building contest. And since I managed to find out before half of the time allotment was over, I jumped at the opportunity.

At first I was going to enter my sergeant, Jeriah, since he wasn't finished yet. But part way through building I was hit by sudden inspiration. The above is what came to me.

I had been looking at the sergeant for my command squad, and realized that his armament wasn't compatible with the new Space Marine codex. So while considering what to do, I decided to make a whole new soldier and use him as a sort of personal bodyguard for Caspian. (Or a second company champion.) But I decided to do away with the combat shield and convert on a good ol' storm shield to give him extra defensive power.

The staff at the store liked him, quoting how good It was at making subtle but impressive changes using different parts. (Kit bashing FTW!) But I still lost. A guy brought in a Space Wolves dreadnought captain (apparently they exist). With all the scratch built parts and extreme use of other kits, I was done.
