Description
From a planet where terrestrial sessile lifeforms happen to be red and blue.

As soon as this predator catches up with prey, the four covers of the feeding apparatus blow open in a flower-like fashion and a bunch of slimy, disgusting tentacles full of hooks shoot towards the victim.
Once it's ensnared, the spiral hydrostatic organs from the front uncurl and get a rock-hard erection inflated by some sort of electrically-charged ayylien fluid and as soon as both touch prey, it gets zapped to the extreme.
This results in the poor critter being paralyzed and after that the predator drags it whole into its internal cavity to be slowly digested alive.

The male's genitals are activated by gravity, btw. They make a particular pose before mating and the pickle-equivalent just slids out.

There's a notorious lack of furry aliens both in spec evo and sci-fi. Not using filament integument for aliens is, in my opinion, a huge waste. Fur can look as alien and scary as scales, exoskeletons and troglomorphic leather, which tend to be the most beaten path when designing alien creatures.
