You'd actually take a Land Rover 'wheeling!?!? That just seems to me like a hideous waste of money. Don't get me wrong they are fine vehicles but they are expensive to repair! I'll gladly stick with my Jeep Cherokee XJ though, hasn't given me a single bit of problem yet.

It's funny you say that because this is from a Land Rover four wheeling convention that they have every year. Many Land Rovers are MADE for four wheeling! Although a lot of the Land Rovers they've made in the recent years are useless in the mountains (Much like hummers), this one is quite the opposite. At one of the conventions a group of Land Rovers had to pull out a group of Jeeps out of a puddle of mud.

Ohhh owch... I know one time I had to help a guy I found out in the woods who'd snapped his front drive shaft in a rut, he had a big F350 with like a 10 inch lift huge swammper tires... The guy went across the rut instead of with it and got wedged, torqued the drive shaft and sheared it in half. I pulled him out in two wheel drive on my XJ Cherokee. I have nothing against Land Rovers, they are great vehicles but just way to expensive to fix if something breaks. Especially in America where you have to have the parts imported.

Crazy! Some people need to be more respectful of their surroundings.
Yea very true, but I think if you go for the investment its well worth it. I grew up with riding in Land Rovers and there was a dealership right down the street, so I guess I just fell in love!

I am loyal to Jeep but I refuse, /refuse/ to purchase anything newer than a '92. I drive my '99 cherokee because it was free and given to me by my parents but '92 and back had posi-locking front and rear axles. Anything after '92 has limited slip. So I get stuck with one wheel in the air and no drive, I've had to have friends hold onto my roof rack on one side to get the tires on the ground and give me traction haha!
