Description
Here is the first page for my April fools comic! I won't post page two till the 31st.The backgrounds were made by mythogamer.deviantart.com/ and greatly modified by me.
Mind you I would have done it myself but I needed to save time to get them done on time.

*sigh*
I keep telling people - Horses (and therefor ponies) CAN eat meat. They just usually don't because in most cases, they don't need to. While they are primarily herbivores, they are not restricted to only digesting plants.
A pony will quite happily steal your cheeseburger, hotdog, or ham sandwich if you are careless enough to leave one within their reach while not paying attention. And no, it does not make them sick.
That being said, baring high altitudes or other low oxygen situations when they would need the extra protein, it is probably healthier for a pony to stick to plants.
And I find this comic funny because Applejack almost ate a ham sandwich during the episode in which Philomena the Phoenix was introduced. It was part of the buffet spread the Cakes had set out for Princess Celestia. As Applejack had NOT eaten the sandwich, perhaps she's more strictly a vegetarian?

I know on occasion that horses will eat meat if it's within reach. It's just fun to keep with the stigma that they don't eat meat. I do remember that episode, very funny. I also remember with the episode with running of the leaves that Pinkie was talking about eating hot dogs.

Maybe there is a social stigma. After all, why else would a street vendor in Manehatten be selling grilled carrots with the works? I figure that a high enough percentage of ponies are vegetarians that vegetables are cheaper for them to hock than hotdogs or other sausages.
Granted, there's a reason heavy condiments became a vendor tradition, although I understand most vendors exercise better quality control these days...
I can also imagine horrified expressions on most of the rest of the group, with Rainbow Dash being a possible exception.
Rainbow Dash: "What? Don't give me that look! I'm a high performance flyer! Of COURSE I eat meat! Otherwise I wouldn't have the energy to fly as high or as fast as I do!Slap me some of that bacon, Pinkie!"
Pinkie Pie: "You got it!"
ALTERNATELY:
Rainbow Dash: "What? Don't give me that look! I don't eat meat around Ponyville because it upsets Fluttershy! Granted, that's also the reason I take so many naps, and why I tend to limit my stunt practice to low enough altitudes that I hit obstacles like buildings, trees, other ponies, and the ground more frequently than any other Pegasus than Derpy..."
Fluttershy: "I'm sorry..."
Rainbow Dash: "Ah, don't worry about it, it's my choice because your my friend."
Fluttershy: "But I do eat meat..."
Rainbow Dash: "Say what now?"
Fluttershy: "I do eat meat! I... I can't help it! I know it's horrible, but all those cutesy wootsey animals are just so darn delicious! I can't help it! I'm... I'm a MEAT LOVER! There! I said it! I'm a horrible pony!"
Rarity: "Well, I must admit that I did occasionally slip into a Griffon Delicatessen when I was staying in Canterlot. They seem to have a modest pony customer base despite the social stigma..."
Twilight Sparkle: "Canterlot was built on the side of a mountain. Protein is more of a health supplement than a preferred staple. If we didn't eat enough, we got altitude sickness. I stopped eating meat when I decided to stay in Ponyville because I didn't need to any more, but I could go either way, really..."
Spike: "Says the mare who spends at least two nights a week hunting rodents with a mallet, a bottle of ketchup, and a crazed look in her eye..."
Twilight: "SPIKE! You weren't supposed to tell them that?"
Spike: "What? I thought we were all coming clean? I sometimes make Baked Bads on purpose because I happen to like them."
Applejack: "All my friends are MONSTERS! Exceptin' you, Spike. Although likin' Baked Bads is a bit much...""

Perhaps Angel Bunny is so...assertive... in order to take himself off of the deliciously cute list?

I'd say that's very likely. Fluttershy seems to like the abuse from that bunny.

Running away from Pinkie Pie is like Penelope the cat running from Pepe' le Pew. Try as she might, she can't get away.

True. After all Pinkie tends to break all laws of physics. In other words she crosses denominational barriers on a regular basis, therefor she can learn from Pep'e directly.
