Sarah couldn't handle the fact her father died, because he kind of coddled her (in the words of Carver im sorry to add) she had to be left behind because she was obviously not moving from that spot. to be honest her death was inevitable. Like Clementine has the choice to say "a person like her couldn't survive in this world"

Nothing, I feel like Carlos' death was slightly but hardly necessary, Nick and Rebecca's deaths weren't though...as I mentioned, neither was Sarah's.

Carlos' death is necessary in the essence that it causes Sarah to run away in panic and grief, leading you to find her at the trailers. it is there at the site of Sarah's first death where you figure out if you do not try at all, giving up at the slightest mention of denial or an issue, even if what you might do would save a life; or if you are persistent and go on, despite the danger and risk that would come to you, despite the fact that what you do seems futile, as if it would do no good, even if who you are saving is someone you don't exactly like (now i know that can't apply to you since you like Sarah, but to the others whose case isn't that there is more to it). that is why Sarah's and some others' deaths are necessary they teach you something. sure, it's a game and fictional characters and all that, but if one actually were to seriously take it to heart...
Rebecca's death contains a theme that is commonly used in the games: survivalism. with it also comes along the thoughts of if you believe you to be strong enough to take on the task that is killing someone to save a new life, or if you should let someone who is also capable of doing so to shoulder the guilt of having to kill that someone. (i speak of the latter because later on, Kenny expresses extreme regret and sorrow over having killed her)
Nick's death, though? yeah that fell short and didn't seem to have anything involved with it, other than having to painfully end the life of somebody close to you.
you don't gotta read this but that situation could've been better if telltale made something up like: Clem catches him during his last moments of life where he somehow got himself stuck in the fence and he just doesn't care about it since he knows he's going to die, but Clementine wants to get him out so that she can move him to help and save him, even though Jane says that it's pointless and he's clearly dying. so that there's actual choice-making at that point, you decide to continue with your idea [where while freeing him, Nick dies and slowly reanimates, and almost succeeds in biting Clem were it not for Jane pulling her back and noticing it early. you'll have steadfast belief in yourself and your own ideas, but also realize that what you think might not be the best idea and foolish, and that you're too hopeful/idealistic, naive, and dive into things) or submit to the truth [where Clem will be regretful for letting Nick die with the knowledge of her not even -trying- to help a friend at all (and get angry at Jane obviously because Jane's just gotta be snapped at some more)]. actually kinda sounds similar to something else but eh there's more to it than just a mysterious and weird death

No.. No, NO, NO! Β I just can't believe there were so many character deaths in just one episode. Rebecca's at the just shocked as well as angered, it had to be in a very hostile moment.Β
This was the darkest episode I've ever seen from both seasons in general.
Though I know I'll end up regretting what I'm going to say, maybe it is for the best if Clementine considers that option of being of her own. Even if she had dealt with more than any child of her age would've ever imagined, there is something that hasn't stopped her from breaking down (like anyone close to her). Only the strongest can make it so far, even if they are left alone in the cold.
